If you get the shorter 45mm one, then you need to use a mouthpiece with it to get it to the right length for a standard condenser. Standard condenser fits either a stem (62mm), or a body (45mm) plus mouthpiece (17mm).

Nice looking stem! If the condenser is pressfit, is there room for air to move through the airport and between the condenser and stem towards the tip? I can’t visualize it...

I hope this will mean that I, so late to this party, will someday have the chance to get a station...

I gotta say, this Virgo can’t abide how dirty stems have to get to make this worthwhile. Much prefer frequent cleaning in reused everclear, until it’s a nice dark amber color, then put it into coffee directly. @Mr.Sifter, recently cleaned a cap with bartender’s friend, a soft cloth and elbow...

I don’t think so either. When I discovered that it was cheated towards the tip end, I understood why my omni would not close off 100% of the airport. Discovered the moveability by accident when cleaning once.

My Omni stem is a few years old. Here’s what I’ve discovered. The threaded barrel in the middle of the condenser that the mouthpiece screws onto can move a few mm on the condenser. Try unscrewing the mouthpiece and removing it, putting the mouthpiece end of the condenser on a firm surface...

I’ve had good luck with a Scorch double like this one, though truthfully I use single 99% of the time. I used it a lot when I began with vapcaps. And it seems to be an older model... only downside was no fuel level window...

People do that and call it “stem milk”. I don’t think It’s exactly bangh, but that technique does produce a potent result

On my omni condenser, those parts seem to be press fit together. I can actually change the length of the condenser by pulling it slightly out of that press fitting. Have you tried brute force pressing it back in? If it’s not working right, nothing to lose...

I remember reading (but not where, alas) that the low temp cap is about 15-17 degrees cooler than the regular one.

A simple trick to fine tune fit in glass stems, since they can vary slightly, is to remove the grey o-rings from the tip, wind a little bit of cotton thread (not nylon, it will melt) In the grooves, and then reinstall the o-rings on top of the thread. You can get it to the exact level of...

Yes. I’ve done it with a glass “taster”. Put the tip in the crimped end, fill with 6mm glass balls, then cap with the fat mouthpiece.

I think it’s gonna be different from the Apollo. I understand the Apollo heats slowly, and I kind of wish I’d gotten it instead. I got the alpine inexpensively to see whether I like IH, but it’s really not quite ready for prime time. I lucked out, personally, in that mine was not broken when...
