Done! Thanks for the tips guys. I've never used a water piece of any kind but I'm also a freak about potential aluminum inhalation. I suppose the metal filtration goes high in the "pros" column for water pieces.

I'm guessing the gold plating was a factor in deciding not to use friction fitting. The threads don't have to be as bad as they are. It should have been done as a much thicker thread, quarter turn or half turn at the very most.

I'm happy with the performance of the capsules. even roasting, plenty of vapor, great taste. My max temp is now 420, up from 380 without the capsules, with similar roast. Already tossed the "carrying case", it's worthless. I'm using a plastic doob tube for now, but I need a proper magazine...

:hmm: Disappointing the "case" is just card stock. That isn't going to hold up. I would have paid a little more for a real carrying case.

What's a guy got to do to get a stainless rim conversion for a v1 premium? I didn't put in a warranty case for the minor scuffing on my aluminum rim but now I wish I had. It's not listed in Accessories on the store and @FlowerMillJohn does not respond to DMs. Take my money? :shrug::shrug:

The only cooling "unit" is a series of bends designed into the vapor path. You could remove the mouth piece and draw directly on the body I suppose. Otherwise, that's a very cool "no" there, teacup!
