The metal collar was down. I think the short tube goes first but I suspect you have to unscrew the coil from the board. Really frustrating. I can usually figure these things out but not this one.

According to the directions you are correct. But as you can see, my unit is nothing like the one in the manual or the pictures. It was impossible to get the screen out. I suspect the screen got accidentally pushed through the metal in the glass tube. When I loosened the screw all of it came out...

There are 2 tubes. One a short glass and the second with the metal. I suspect the screen caved into the metal. It is actually not the best design and I am a bit pissed off that to the directions were not updated. I think the coil is not shorted. If it is bricked I won't get another.

I tried that but it won't fall out. I use a dosing capsule and there really is no build up. My only problem is that the device will not operate when the dial is on 1. I sent an email to TM with a question about that and it was never answered.

Actually, I think I am going to stick with the pudendal grind my woman's lower lips give me. I not only get a good medium grind for my 3 vapes, but for really dry herb, I get moisture replacement as well those lost erogenous terps.
