The persei doesn't come with aw batteries. You have to buy them separately.

They do blink when they batteries are low as well. It won't produce the burnt electronics smell, but if you are not using AW brand batteries this might be the issue

Yea, but an official rebuildable atomizer from the same company that makes the mod would be preferable IMO & I only say 601 because that is their preferred threading.
