Wow, wow, and wow. Sorry I haven't been around much. I'm very busy with school; writing, directing, and editing a movie (max 10 minutes); crewing on other student productions; and trying to secure an internship for the Fall. In January it will be time for me to get back out into the real...

    Log Style Vapes

^^ If the hot metal is releasing chemicals when heated, it is releasing chemicals when heated. I don't understand why conduction or convection vaporizing would change that. This is the first I've heard of people shying away from conduction for health concerns. All I've ever heard was that...

    Discontinued Supreme Vaporizer

That sucks but with the constant resetting it's obvious something was wrong from the get go. There's gonna be a faulty (insert product here) once in a while. It always sucks when you're the one who gets it. But, again, warranty or no Ed should replace that thermometer. You just got the thing.

Vitolo, you are a freek. Emphasis on the FREE! Please don't confuse it with a freak. Big difference in my mind. Your posts bring a smile to my face. Keep on keeping on.

    My hometown, destroyed. Boo.

I understand. Try to take a break, though I know it's hard, from the news every so often. I hope your family and friends are okay and I pray they (and you) find the strength needed at a time like this.

I don't remember but you just remove the two screws and pull the thermometer off carefully. The wires are inside of a little hole. Pull them out, also carefully, change the battery, push them back in. Screw in the thermometer. I seem to have some recollection of not pulling the wires completely...

Right. I would expect he would get a replacement free of charge (it only seems right) considering the timing of the malfunction. I would guess that some thermometers just crap out early. Just like many products. I've bought several of those chef's torches. some lasted only a few months. Others...

    Discontinued Supreme Vaporizer

Really? You threw away ~200 dollars because the $15 thermometer broke? Screen burn out? Stupid question but are you sure the battery didn't need replacing? For the record. I've never had a screen burn out. I would expect a screen burning out very soon after purchase would be replaced free of...

    Discontinued Supreme Vaporizer

Although most times I've emailed Ed (it hasn't been much) I've gotten a prompt reply, once it took about a week and that was part of the reason for buying so many backup thermometers. I really wish I knew how to get one without going through Ed just in case...

    Discontinued Supreme Vaporizer

If you're talking about the thermometer wire breaking, then everything I've said is about the SV1. I've successfully changed the battery more often than I've broken wires but it can happen. You have to be very careful. Really, the only differences between the two versions (as far as I can...

Mine isn't as fancy either. I bought it a few years ago. Yep, adjust the flame size with the dial or stick (it's been a while) and I also vary the distance from torch to supreme to help control how fast the temperature rises. No, micro soldering is only to fix a broken wire but unless you know...

I use a chef's torch purchased from target. Kind of like this one: http://www.target.com/Bonjour-Creme-Brulee-Set/dp/B000IZRWKI/ref=sc_pd_gwvub_2_title I try to set my flame so that the temp rises no more than 4 or 5 degrees at a time.

I broke a few thermometers. What I did was heat it up without the mouthpiece attached. Eventually I'd start smelling the goodness, then I would attach the mouthpiece, maybe heat it a few seconds more and start hitting. Before breaking the thermometer, I remembered smelling the goodness somewhere...

    Value for $$

What does being an audiophile have to do with smoking? Also, vaporizers are not smoking products. Why don't you think there aren't health concerns? What people are trying to tell you is, the concern isn't solely that it is made in China. Again, there are many reputable businesses producing...

    Discontinued Supreme Vaporizer

Did you stop heating at 270? If so the temperature probably climbed to 280ish, maybe higher. Not that it matters for the malfunction. It sounds like you just need a new thermometer. The fact that the thermometer isn't necessary for function is another good aspect of the Supreme. Of course, I'd...

Yeah it does (well, maybe not completely cashed but it's still cooking in there). That's probably the main reason I started loading smaller amounts so I could finish it in one session. Isn't this a contradiction? How do you "only ever hit it till it's done," and "fill in the morning and use it...
