It's easiest to imagine that you are an engine, the Omni condenser is an adjustable choke, the tip is providing fuel and the whole Vapcap itself is a carburetor. The fuel (vapour) flow is dependent on how hard you draw and the amount of air mixing is determined by the Omni condenser setting...

You still need a way for the air to enter the stem and reach the tip/condenser area. If it was a solid stem there would be no way for air to enter and it wouldn't be able to adjust the fresh airflow, because there wouldn't be any! Titanium has pretty much the highest strength to density ratio...

That's the basic idea, I'm still thinking about incorporating a debowling tool in future versions but I'll have to do a bit of designing first. I typically tap out my vapcap tips on the side of the funnel which usually works, if not I use my cap or a needle to clean it out.

I use a hot single flame near the bottom of the cap then switch to the middle of the cap for the follow up cycle. This means that I get a lot of conduction happening on the outside and the convection simply does not cook the middle as much.
