Wood is a moisture sponge, so it will tend to suck things dry if you put them inside of a wood container. Of course there are limits to how much it's going to absorb and how quickly, but ground up herb is already fairly dry and the surface area is pretty large. Thus your herb will end up bone...

That's the same problem that others had. SDS said that it was Ti galling during machining and I have to agree. Carbon fiber is made from epoxy and carbon fibres, so it will hold up about the same as a plastic would. Metal lined stems are the way to go IME. I've combusted several times in my...

Gone but never forgotten.....(broken glass thread)

RIP "little blue bubbler" 5-21-2018  My computer chair swung around when I got up and the back of it bumped the glass off my desk. He was so young.

It might be easiest to just remove the o-rings if you want to use such an aggressive solvent. Neither Viton nor Silicone will hold up to Acetone in the long run.

Oh, I'm aware that others may love the look and feel of the LE tip. I know that the geometry could be seen as beautiful in the right situation but it doesn't come across immediately to the eye. The other designs I've seen from Dynavap range from complex to simple but they're all easy to...

I hope it's just a misunderstanding. I have issue with the overall design of the LE tip which goes beyond the marks that are on the edges. A replacement would just cost Dynavap money, inventory and time to send it to me and I ultimately still wouldn't like the tip. The sharp edges, tapered...

huh. I asked if I could get an original 4th gen at that time and never got a reply back about it. Nice that you got the free stuff though.

@VanCough I hope they can figure something out for you. There wasn’t much of a solution for me. I’m still a bit upset about my LE tip tbh. It was supposed to be my fourth 7 fin tip but it’s only good for fitment testing to me. I honestly still feel like throwing it out as it serves as a...

I made a sister piece to the black wood stem I made the other day. It ended up having too many flaws in the end for me to sell though. I thought I would share as it is beautiful anyways.

I don't know how I missed this post. Put the VonG and glass in some Rice or dry saw dust. Do not use excessive heat like an oven or you may crack the wood. You made things much worse for yourself when you used hot water, it would massively expand the wood. So if it wasn't stuck, it would be...

I've found that the tip does require cleaning more often if you don't have some airflow leaking into the area around the base. I make sure I store my long stem tip down so that nothing drips into the stem. I've been thinking of ways I can introduce a tiny air channel somewhere to prevent this...

I used to make stems slightly shorter so that they would fully choke with an Omni but reverted back to 62mm because people were having setting issues when swapping their Omni from piece to piece.

If all else fails you can use a very long wood screw to bite into the wood and yank it out. I don't recommend this as it will likely split the mouthpiece.

My Mighty will make me cough by the end of the session but I can vape a similar amount in a vapcap and it won't bother me. I'm not sure what's going on but the Vapcap isn't as harsh for extended sessions.

Today I finished a long Vapcap stem for a custom order, the design is by @phattpiggie. There's a series of work in progress photos in my thread if anyone is interested. I'm super happy with the result. There's a brass liner in the top that holds the tip and an integral SS condenser that runs...

I decided not to lathe the taper then grind and opted to grind from start to finish. It ended up being less frustrating this way, I just chilled out to some Blink-182 and took my time. Here's the stem all finished, the pictures definitely do not do it justice and they cannot convey the density...

I'm on the final stretch with this long stem. I spent this morning grinding in the tapers. I first started with two opposed sides and scribed lines that I could work up to. I need to round the corners and taper the mouthpiece a bit more.

    Herb Grinders

Triple start threads or interrupted threading would be an ideal feature. Either one reduces the turns needed to get the grinder apart. Another feature that should be looked at is the top and bottom of the grinding chamber. The top should be female and the bottom should be male. This puts the...
