    The Illusive Materials Thread

Alumina doesn't sluff off oxides. All the oxides are fused into a bulk ceramic at well over 1,200C. Ceramic knives are made from alumina.

    The Illusive Materials Thread

Alumina, which is aluminum oxide, is fired at super high temperatures. There is nothing left for us to off-gas with a mere torch.

Induction Heater MAD Heaters - Innovative Dynavap Accessories

I really like the luster on the black ones. And I'm not a PVD kind of guy. My beta 'black beauty' is the only metal stem I like. Feels right in the hand and on the lips.

@kokolokokolokon - the voltage, ranging from 5 to 12 volts, these modules use determines the power. It is directly related to the length of the coil wire in our case. 10 turns on a stock coil for 12V is 33" long. If you make the voltage 2/3rd of 12V, 8V, then you can also remove the same...

Try a 7-turn coil (12 gauge) on a 2S with the standard module, cap-reduced module, or a HalfPint module. Any IH should do much more than 7 clicks with 2S 18650. Remember that the DynaCup was a 2S device and people liked that. I never counted clicks with 3S but 2S will be 2/3rd the clicks...

@choice They actually make some high output cells now? Got a solid reference to know what we're looking for?

I think the 555 can handle the low current as a gate drive. Just keep the rate very slow. And don't string a bunch of LEDs on the output. Remember there are two 555 circuits; one @ 0-100 range and one @ 50-100.

Nah; they are using an alternate way to resonate with 2 less chokes. This requires a wire at the center of the coil as the positive input. The center-tapped coil now acts as 2 inductors when the VC is present. They are also using a bare bones minimal capacitor. All energies induced is...

    The Magic-Flight Box

I've strained all my flower through a strainer after grinding. This provides a wealth of small sugar leaf stems and bits that don;t go through the fine screen. The strainer has scraped the small stems clean but they are in fact bud-sticks. Turns out that the Launch Box handles these -very-...

    Ispire Wand, enail&vaporizer

The Wand can do a single draw full extraction. Depends on the cap, not the heater.

    Ispire Wand, enail&vaporizer

I'm going to see how long it takes for me to go back to the naked Wand @thunderstealer1337 - I was bored and @Petetbay's efforts had me thinking for a moment. I was surprised it worked so well and how nice the tune is - at the bottom of the glass, the Wand is quite hot.

@Petetbay - A new cap stands up fine on the wooden disk. If the ingress is too deep, add an adhesive backed cork dot. I like cork and wood better than silicone because silicone tends to be a significant heatsink. If the DV cap has a dent, it may not stay up straight. If you want to reduce...

    Ispire Wand, enail&vaporizer

Okay @Petetbay - I've been avoiding a bottom in my Wand for some time now. I found a good technique and have been following it all this time. But your serious endeavor into making a simple bottom that is not CF intrigued me. I put a scrap of lumber in the lathe and made a disk that is...

That may be a simple adapter for using DV stems @Dutch-Mic Maybe @khelek41girl of KG Woodcrafts can do an adapter. Simple enough.

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

Those little meters hide on eBay too but they are hard to find. Yes @swieder711 , you should solder some pins on the wire, a JST or maybe some .025" square pin from a header. I just stuffed the wires in there and it worked too. YMMV. found one - https://www.ebay.com/itm/363597483459 same...

you need 12.6 volts, the supply is 12.0 volts. It can also deliver too much current.
