    Rosin Technique....Easy DIY Solventless

yeah this iron has held up surprisingly well so far considering my usage. but since I've added the shim I've noticed the top plate is trying to push it's way out of the shell. probably on it's last legs :rip: once it dies I want to upgrade to either a t shirt press or modified arbor press (use...

I recommend putting a metal shim between the plates of the hair iron. Less than half the normal area so you can put down a lot of pressure. I used a piece of an aluminum road sign that I sanded down . wish I did this sooner- it seems to improve yield more than any of the recent mods I've done to...

Really REALLY n00b need help making concentrate

A quick-wash with everclear is probably the easiest way to make hash oil. The rosin technique is certainly nifty, but due to it's low yields I wouldn't recommend it to anyone low on funds. Here's a couple of links to instruction guides: http://skunkpharmresearch.com/qwet-extraction/...

have you tried @Jared s rehydration tek? Basically nugs in a glass jar, covered with a moist coffee filter, and put somewhere warm for 20 minutes (I use my toaster set on low with the door open). I've been doing this for all my presses lately and it works great! Not only better yields but it's...

sounds like he pressed the rosin out and then did a BHO run on the leftovers in a closed loop

I just tried it with a little caviar nug in some coffee filter. All the oil absorbed into the filter, with none of it making it to the parchment. The less porous the filter material, the better

they were cured. I talked to someone at the dispo I got it from and apparently the buds were sprayed with an ethanol extract and then dipped in kief. however judging from my lower-than-expected yield of 18% (and lack of musky flavor) I don't think the hashmaker used very much oil in his process

Some deathstar caviar rosin compared to $60/g live resin. 2nd press of deathstar is on the left, 1st press is in the middle, and live resin is on the right.

Is bubble hash worth the effort?

Glad to hear it turned out! If it's still in a frozen chunk, I'd pick up a microplaner and grind it into fine pieces. That'll help with the drying/cure and give you better taste down the road. For the cure I'd keep it in glass jars in a dark, cool spot (~60°), opening the jars everyday or...

@PPN Try a longer press; 3-4 seconds is what I do with parchment. you may not be getting enough heat with two slick pads. If that still doesn't work, I'd say pressure is probably the limiting factor.

I tried it with the ptfe slick sheet and the rosin just ended up sticking to it (even after some time in the freezer).

    Any good Netflixxing going on?

Chef is one of my favorite movies on Netflix. It's like the Food Channel blended a few shows together and made an awesome flick out of it. Do not watch if you're even slightly hungry though. I had to pause it halfway through and go out and buy a cuban sandwich. :mmmm:

When I used a pressing screen for bubble, a significant amount was left trapped in the screen. A screen isn't required for buds though. I've been getting this clarity with only parchment:

None of the flower rosin I've tried has come close to good BHO in terms of flavor. My best result had just a slight hint of the terpene profile from the flower. However my experiments with medium grade bubble (even pressed w/out a screen) taste much better. The bubble rosin extracts with lower...

I've found it's really dependent on the strain/grow quality. I picked up a quarter recently and pressed .25g of each strain. Grape god on the left and tangerine kush on the right. Tang kush yielded more than double the grape god. Grape god was much drier but after looking at the test results...

Tried the hash church tek and it worked great. did it with both a 25ui pressing screen and a ~50ui stainless mesh. Each method produced identical results but the mesh seemed to trap less oil. Forgot to take pics but the product is as clean as any of the flower rosin I made albeit better tasting...

Please offer suggestions for my upcoming Denver trip

I'm not familiar with Denver shops but I can recommend some good products. Concentrates (expect to pay near $70/g for top quality) : Greendot (live resin and shatter) TC Labs (shatter and wax) TerpX (shatter and wax) Viola (shatter and wax) Trichome Heavy Extracts (full melt bubble) Essential...

I've been having some good luck with my ghetto press. My technique is to lightly compress ~.25g in a kief press (about the width of a dime) and then throw it in the hair iron. The iron is set to 350 and I press for ~5 seconds by lining up the iron sides and putting most of my weight on the...
