Yep, that's exactly what happened. I edited my post because the iolite just started to work after I emptied and refilled it at home.

I went to a ski resort this weekend and I was staying at a place that was around 7k feet. I brought my iolite with me and it worked well the first day, but on the second day it stopped working and it didn't start working until I got back home.

I like the new Limited Edition iolites you guys just put up on your website. Much more discrete, although I still prefer my white iolite. :) http://www.my-iolite.com/news_d.asp?ART_ID=35

i forgot to mention that the replacement plastic mouthpieces are lasting longer than the original mouthpieces. I think the material is stronger also because the vapors are much more visible. i'm on my 3rd replacement though so i'm just waiting for the SS replacement in the meantime.

I just got the same email from iolite today too. Very exciting news for sure. I recently ordered plastic replacements from eBay, but they had the "x" on the bottom, and so far two of those have broken off. So I'm definitely looking forward to the new stainless steel replacements.

is there anything i can use in the meantime until my replacement mouthpieces arrive in the mail? thanks for any suggestions.

thanks for the tip shotgunwilly, i ended up heating up the unit and untwisting it with small scissors. i didn't think it would work with scissors but it did. i was wondering if those mouthpiece replacement parts on ebay were any good. i just ordered a set, hopefully they'll hold up better...

djelimon and willieR, I agree packing the chamber nice and loosely and taking really slow breaths help alot. unfortunately, my other mouthpiece broke yesterday right at the base where the "x" is. in the meantime i guess i'll have to get some new mouthpieces. willieR, i need to try your rubber...

I'm starting to enjoy my iolite more and more every day. I've had it for about 5 days, and just today I learned how to pull the vapors the right way. It's a huge difference for me. Way more clouds and my high is alot better. Now I just need to figure out how to fill the iolite with butane...

In case anyone's interested they have iolite vaporizers on ebay for $169.69 buy it now price + free shipping. It just came up today i think. Seems like a great deal to me...

I was wondering if I had new ones are not also, but I guess they are new ones like you said. I'm surprised they heat up so easily. Yep, I did just re-fill, so there probably is some air that needs to be released. I'll wait for 5 min and see what happens.

Thanks willieR, I was able to remove the plastic by using the hand tool and unscrewing it since a little piece was still sticking out. Yes, my plastic pieces to have an "X" where the threads are. I'll definitely be sure not to unscrew the mouthpiece now. :) Unfortunately now my iolite is not...
