The coil reading takes less a minute, maybe two mionuttes, but you probably want it to heat soak for ten minutes. It'll probably work fine sooner than that but I usually give it ten.

Another vote for the miniVAP. I have both and the miniVAP beats the EVO for flavor AND hits harder, in my opinion. A lot less fragile, as well.
