Their website describes it as electric, but designed as a combustion, one-hitter???????????

"Crafted from both maple and walnut, the PICO is a small, classic, electric one-hitter designed for combustion without the butane. Featuring a tiny screen and sliding steel cover, the PICO actually starts as a vape, and then combusts your herbal material for the perfect single hit. Stealthy to its core, this handy little device allows for a quick and discreet launch wherever summer takes you."

"The PICO is capable of covering the spectrum between vaporization to combustion - acting as a ‘one-hitter’, using our patented technology. - Magic-Flight"

So I guess it can be a vape with some technique...????

Really bizarre decision. A vape that combusts? I hope they didn't spend a lot of money in R&D for this. Think I would rather have a pipe.
The spectrum of vaping to combustion is covered during the act of smoking a joint, because the cherry/combusting material at the front of the joint heat the uncooked material back near the filter, and the resulting vapor is one argument for smoking a joint instead of a bong.

Edit: 36$ is really cheap but this still makes no sense.

Wow, this thing looks like a flop. They would have been better to make a stand alone hash piece like the Maud Dib, but in the smaller form factor. I don't know anybody who wants to smoke weed out of wood and metal with glass 1 hitters being plentiful and costing less than $5.

What in the fuck??

Stick to proper procedures.....that should have been "What the Fuck? Over." Keep the channel clear, most of us expect a well deserved rant to follow otherwise......

How about 'a new vape they couldn't stop from combusting'?

Or maybe 'an electric pot pipe that takes a long time to get going'? You know, it sometimes sits and smokes and smokes before getting going right? Combiusters aren't likely to like it either I think.

I smell a 'let's market the bug we can't fix as a feature' here.......

Those of us who've 'taken the pledge' and avoided blazing long enough to escape the addiction remember (or soon will) how revolting it is to smoke really. I don't think many of us are going to jump into line on this one.

Pico perhaps in name (I wish these guys would get names not already being used though.....) but IMO a giant step in the wrong direction. Though no doubt well thought out otherwise and well made as you'd expect of MF. But I'll put this down in the same category free ham to a Jew?

Someone else can have mine.+

Pulled the trigger on this one, looks around the size of a battery.

I was skeptical because of combustion, but with the lack of other wooden innovation had to get me this toy to mess around with before the summer ends

:science: Personally I dislike butane, guessing this might be there answer to dynavap

Will the Pico get its own thread? A one-hitter device from MF that deliberately combusts makes no sense.
It's a one-hitter which means you'll be filling it often so forget about stealth. I feel like I'm missing something here.

As the Pico does not seem apealing to Vaporists, because of its advertised combustion capabilities there still might be the chance that another real Vaporizer will be anounced by MF, since in the previously posted Video-Interview the guy from MF talks about TWO new Vapes.

Though I have to admit that I am bit disappointed myself, that the big anouncement is for a combustion device so far.

What I dont really get from the pictures is how the batterie connects to the Pico. Any ideas?

I think the battery hole is on the bottom, it's the only bit you can't see in the photos. would be cool if mf showed how it worked but this might just be like a side project or something?

they don't call it a vaporizer anywhere just a one-hitter so hopefully we can still expect 2 new mf vaporizers this year, if they are this small that would be nice too.

I'll go one further, sounds to me like it needs a new Forum? A combustion device seems out of place on a Forum with this name.

Not saying it's not a useful product to some, but real Vaporists don't combust.....at least not on purpose. That's the whole idea, really. Kind of like a "wine and cheese mixer" to start out an AA meeting.......

Looks like a job for!
So is the Pico meant to be an item to help convert smokers to vaping?

Is it meant to compete with the low cost of the VapCap? Because of how hard it is to get wood back to pure after its absorbs smoke ETC it is hindering that badly if so.

As others have said this sounds like they just had some issue in development and got a device that combusted too regularly and were potentially going to re-tweak it, then just said "fuck it the vape/420 crowd are idiots, sell it anyways they'll buy it."

:worms: :worms:The pre-ordering and fanboyizim is starting to hurt this industry the exact same way that it's badly hurt the video game industry. Put simply, product creators don't seem to be trying as hard as in the recent past because of the nearly guaranteed sales that they are getting lately. :worms::worms:

I have been part of this problem in the past, and now pledge to be part of the solution in the future. (0 pre-orders for me now)

Was really excited to see the MF new devices, this is a big bummer.

I wonder if the Pico is all about efficient flower use?

When I first found vaping it wasn't because I was looking for a healthier way to worship mother nature's finest creation. I was looking for a way to save money when it became apparent that my household use was about to double. A little Google-Fu and the herbal efficiency associated with vaping was presented constantly. Once I got involved with vaping the health aspect jumped from added value to equal or more value.

Vaping releases the goodies way more than combustion so....if a device could be created that initially releases the goodies through vaping so more of the goodies are released (when compared to combustion) and once the vaporization has done its job the unit combusts the remainder - this type of unit should significantly increase how much of the herbal goodness is absorbed/made available. I'm not forgetting that combustion isn't healthy but a unit like this would cover those who are simply looking to get more bang for the buzz out of their herb.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it ;)

The Pico seems like a ridiculous device to me. Designing something that can combust does not seem that hard, it`s the trick to reduce the chance of combusting to a minimum. That it looks good, is handmade with nice wood makes no difference. If it is advertised as a combusting device, it`s just an ordinary e-pipe that burns herbs.

I believed that MF`s philosophy was to create a quality, stylish and healthier alternative for smoking cannabis products. Releasing this Pico is like if Tesla, would launch a gas powered car just to make more money with their well known brand, selling their philosophy for more market share.

They should improve their vape-products, not create a stylish, cancer-causing herbburner, just to release something new, every 3 months. I don`t care to wait 5, even 10 years for a FB 2.0 or another new vaper.

Just don`t produce shit like this, it is bad for your good name.

Oh, and fuck combustion!

Do you think so? I'm not at all sure. Most I think abandon ABV at their personal point of diminishing returns? There's very little 'goodness' left and most of what is is 'heavy stuff' not THC. More 'couch lock'? I think almost all the useful THC is exhausted long ago, there's just nothing left to get by combustion except stuff you don't really want/need?

Combustion is vaporizing, at least in part. It just foolishly uses THC as a fuel to make the heat.......

Time will tell, but I suggest true Vaporists will give the sign of the Cross to any tool of the devil aimed at combustion. Where is Ataxian when we need a leader?

Some people do want that stoney couch lock, they prefer smoking or that's just what they want to do at the time maybe. I know I honestly still like smoking occasionally. I think another point of the pico may be the unique effect of combining smoking with vaporizing, although for me that works better when I smoke first.
