Hey, it's from @Kalu. Arizona Ironwood, lined with glass.Which 14mm WPA are you using here? I like the style
Glass is from pharrowglass. Thick colorful glass with cooling spiral in.Lovely glass @BushRanger . Where is that from?
This post on cleaning I have bookmarked might help. It covers a break-down and clean with pics. There was definitely a post with a fully disassembled Ti T2 laid out a bit back in the thread, gonna let you do the work finding it though, sorry.
Hello put it on something stable like a wooden board tip side up mouthpiece side on something stable push heatshield downHey was just wondering if anyone could help. I just purchased a tempest v1 body/heatshield and I can't seem to seperate the the 2 pieces of the body. Am I missing something? Removing skin fro. My fingers trying to pull them apart
I've attempted that already with no luck. There's a bit of movement but not enough to release it. I've guessing the previous owner didn't use no lube on the o-rings and never took it apart so it's seized on the o-ringHello put it on something stable like a wooden board tip side up mouthpiece side on something stable push heatshield down
best regards
Have you tried heating it up to make the metal expand a little first?I've attempted that already with no luck. There's a bit of movement but not enough to release it. I've guessing the previous owner didn't use no lube on the o-rings and never took it apart so it's seized on the o-ring
I just got it off with wooden dowl that fit perfectly and heated the body. It ended up popping out. I was genuinely starting to think I had made up the idea of it being in 2 piecesHave you tried heating it up to make the metal expand a little first?
I wouldn't try pulling the WPA out with a magnet, due to risk of tipping the glass...but yes, this WPA is very low profile, gotta pay attention when lifting. It does sometimes make you feel the heat...at the cost of looking sleeker.I assume the WPA sits in there lightly enough for a Reload to pull it out no problem? My fingers have concerns haha
Yes, the V1 upgrade kit includes the V2 pointer in green.@Brenyo Can you use the v2 indicator with the v1 upgrade kit? Saw that the v2 indicators were available in silver. If not, is there any way to get the green color of the new visual indicator in the v1 upgrade kit`? Or can you still use the v1 visual indicator with the rest of the upgrade kit?
Ah, so you can just buy the v2 pointer in silver and use that for the v1 upgrade kitYes, the V1 upgrade kit includes the V2 pointer in green.
Every manual device I’ve ever seen, will discolor, no matter how it’s heated. An IH definitely gives it a lighter, more even discoloration though. I actually like how my Tempests and Tornado look after some use in the Wand. It almost has a bronzed look to the heads.Tempest 2 will probably arrive by tomorrow. Have used the first version mainly with torch, resulting in a decolorization of the head. Turned greyish. Still a problem with the T2?
Otherwise I'll try to use it with induction only.
oh dang i knew your name was familiar! i sold you a v1 stand with a copper insert in it right? i love that combo but think its pretty rare to see. welcome to FC, friend.![]()
I wanted to post this so people that are familiar with Scruffy cooling stands realize that the tempest v1 and v2 have different size heads. In realizing this and since I love them both so much I decided to get a dual stand for them. Then another for my tornado these are copper inserts with an aluminum body. It was my fav combo with the 2 stands I already had been using for a while.
Yessir I still have it to. You were nothing but awesome on that transaction it's nice to see you again! I appreciate the welcome as welloh dang i knew your name was familiar! i sold you a v1 stand with a copper insert in it right? i love that combo but think its pretty rare to see. welcome to FC, friend.
Is that an Aezhenwood stem? Or where can I get one that’s sick
