Regarding Butane when it cites a number, like i saw one brand with a 5 , What does that mean?

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Whip-It brand butane is phenomenal. Great for lighters, great for those direct draw butane devices like the Nova or Vapor Genie. They have a rep for being some of the cleanest, and I'll never buy anything else unless that changes.

Cheap, too.

well you made that easy. Ordered. Getting a replacement Honest torch in addition to that replacement cap from Dynavap. I can start that new torch off on quality butane and see if it has less problems.

Are larger torches in general more tolerant of poorer quality butane?

How do we know which are the cleanest butanes? Obviously they say on the can they're filtered etc... but is there any independent testing on the different varieties?

Keen Newport bottle gas for a lot of different brands
To make things easy for us they label the good stuff with their "near zero impurities" label
So I look for the cheapest " near zero impurities" butane I can find
I think I'm using Bull and LAZR brands at the moment

There were a few threads on this 10-15 years ago, I think this one has some test results

Actually it’s pretty easy.

Take small mirror, spill little bit butane on mirror and let it dry out.
Less residue - cleaner butane.

PB207 issue with broken ignition wire.

Actually, you don’t have to unbend the wire for disassembling.
Just leave the wire unconnected to plastic, that I circled in red after first disassemble.
Now, you can disassemble without unbending the wire.

BTW, piezo-ignitor from Honest lighter fit to PB207. The click isn’t soft as original piezo, but it works.

Whilst it is disassembled, is it possible to turn the flame strength down further than the lowest setting possible when it's assembled?

Yes, You can adjust the range while it disassembled.
It’s ring with gear-teeth. Lift the ring up, and move left or right.
Better to move tooth by tooth, until you get your preferable range.

Minimum flame it’s about 10mm from jet, 6.5mm from heat-shield. Maximum is about 50mm.

ok got the Whip It butane & i am happy to report zero problems with my new honest single flame Dynavap torch & a mid size. good choice

I am leaning towards getting a BIG Blazer torch for my Terpcicle sessions. Is Big Buddy the way to do?

That's the big torch I have. Works great.

From Blazer if you want the best then the big shot is the way to go. Expensive but good, I find it a little awkward to use compared to my torch, but it's definitely more powerful and has a better capacity for gas.

As far as expensive, despite the chance it might not be authentic, I just got one on Amazon for only $45 that's working fine...
