High everyone,

What comes closest to the Pax 2? I like this vaporizer. Pax 3, Pax Mini?
I also have Xmas but looking for a smaller size.
Thank you

i have a PAX Plus, i recently got a POTV Lobo and i would recommend that a lot more than another PAX. Size wise it is wider than a PAX but around same height. The consistency is what i really like over the PAX products.

You aren't really going to get better and smaller than the Pax 2, even within the Pax lineup. The mini is barely shorter, and you give up some critical features like heat level control and the option of a large/small bowl.

There is the Davinci Miqro, but I personally didn't find it to be any smaller than the Pax 2 when you consider needing to bring a spare battery along, and it's increased width. The pax lasts forever on it's internal battery, the miqro blows through a 18350.

I'm halfway through this post when I realized you mean smaller size than the xmax, not the pax.

IMO, all things considered, the XMAX V3 Pro you have is "smaller" than the pax. It's thinner, and the little bit of extra length hasn't been a problem to me. It gives a faster extraction, has decent on demand, and works great with dosing caps. I love my pax 2, but the V3Pro is an improvement in every way other than just loading a half gram and puffing for an eternity.

If you aren't getting the results from the V3 Pro that would make you post this thread, I recommend bumping the temps up, using dosing caps, and focusing on technique. You should be getting massive clouds from it.

If you just want something "new", then you could look at the Lobo or Fury 3. I personally prefer the Fury 3, and that it can (barely) use the dosing caps from my Xmax V3 Pro. I find it's vapor quality and volume to be a large improvement over the V3 Pro, but still think the V3 Pro is a viable option in 2025.

If you feel you need a much larger bowl size than the V3 Pro, then go with the Lobo.

As much as I love ultraportable vaporizers, there still aren't any good options on the market that improve on the Pax. Battery tech is a large factor in this, I think. Pax used every available space for their vape and it shows with a long lasting and high performance ultraportable, albiet conduction session only.

Here are some of the recommended devices (TM2 for comedy option and because it was nearby) so you can compare their form factor:

loving the family photos. so is that the entire range that you are making stuff for? ... nice

Great post btw showing all of this stuff along with relative sizes. In fact i was going to suggest that it become a Resource. Lots of people could benefit from seeing a direct comparison of a good selection of the predominant vaporizers out there in the market.

Thank you for the informative post!
I like the Xmas V3 pro but think it’s too long to fit into a pocket and being concealed as is the Pax 2.
I’m fine with the Pax 2 and don’t need anything smaller. What about the Pax 3 or Pax plus or Pax Mini (mixed reviews).

Just saw a Pax Plus for $150. A good deal for a Pax 2 lover?

I have all pax except mini, I don't see much difference between them, pax plus heats up faster and is more aggressive. Crafty +, ruffu and davinciIq, starry 4 is also easily portable

The Roffu is massive and heavy compared with the V3 Pro, let alone the pax. It also has longer heatup times. And 5 clicks on and off (grr). I see it as a downgrade in all respects for the OP, as it was for me.

Thanks for this user info! I only have experience with the Pax 2, but this matches what my research on the others turned up. It seems that if you've never had a Pax 2, or need to replace a lost unit, then these models have their individual draws. But they aren't a huge step up on any front from the trusty Pax 2.

The mini release disappointed me, as I'd expect at least a shift to internal pouch batteries or a shorter 18500. Instead, the size difference was gained by lopping the oven in half. I'd have rather seen a shorter battery/internals to go along with the shallow oven, to explain the "mini" name.

For what it is, the Pax 2 (and other pax), are freaking brilliant for how compact they are and how well they perform (as a conduction only device).

Thanks! Those are just the ones that showed up for the photo, as they are on my personal devices.

I'm glad the picture gave a good idea of how they compare. I agree that these things are often hard to visualize when seen individually, and have a lot of nuances that don't show up otherwise. I definitely hoped it helped OP.

On sizing, I'd even go as far as to ask @ltv take a step back and clearly define for themselves (and us!) exactly what form factor they need and what functional compromises they are willing to accept. The Fury 3 is shorter than the pax, but larger otherwise. But it comes with higher performance and dosing CAPabilities that might be acceptable as a trade.

Over 420 sales i saw a PAX Plus as low as $120 at one place.

Gpen Dash is pretty small. https://gpen.com/products/g-pen-dash
dash_vape_thumb_fcf6be6d-e7f5-4168-a67d-85e31a5804ac.png

I haven't heard great reviews about that one, but it is small.

I do love this conversation, because ultra ultra ultra portable vaporizers is a rabbit hole I've been down many times. Below the Davinci Miqro, it's just cheap stuff like this which I think OP should avoid. Turtles all the way down.

Off the top of my head, models I researched (or owned) were:

Davinci Miqro - Tiny, but the battery never lasted long enough and the effects were never good enough to make up for the performance gap between the long lasting Pax powerhouse. It's very cute though, and felt "premium". (I hated the vapor path, and felt it had inaccessable parts that could never be cleaned. Perhaps the Miqro-C has fixed this.)

GPen Dash - Plastic mp, bog standard ceramic heating conduction cup, who knows what else.

Yocan Vane - was very tempted by this one, but same drawbacks as the Dash. And, looking at it, I'm not sure it's that much smaller than the Pax.

Litl 1 - Same as above (turtles...), but cheap enough that I was also tempted.

Airvape XS Go - Same concepts as the others, but from a reputable company. Doubt it's smaller than a Pax 2, though.

Airvape X - I got scorched vapor off this one, and scorched lips from the ceramic mouthpiece being so hot. If I'd had it for longer I'd have dropped the temps down, changed up the pack methods, and done more testing. I absolutely loved the flat form factor, low profile carry case, and general fit. It's very very neat.

Vivant Vleaf Go - Thin, small, cheap, convection. I really tried to love this one, and still have it stored away, because I'd love it for a disposable single hit maybe while on the go, oil pen replacement. But it uses a BARE ALUMINUM OVEN WTF AUUGGGGH . Outside of the horrific oven material, the vapor is throat scorching hot and the bowl size too small. (it occurs to me I have a machine shop now and could make myself a stainless steel bowl and cooling unit for it... O_O )

None of these come close to competing with the Pax, V3 Pro, or Fury 3 in 2025 IMO. I'd love to hear more feedback from others along this line of conversation, because it intrigues me.

FYI, I've used sites like https://comparesizes.com/ in the past to help map out sizes of different devices and make a 3d model side by side.

I have used my Pax Mini a fair amount as of late. The biggest change in performance came when I started grinding my herb with a MFLB finishing grinder after an initial time through a normal grinder. This, combined with using a Pax brand “herb puck” maker to craft 0.20 (ish) sized pucks changed this into a great device for me. I like the heavy stoney conduction hits and the battery life is great!

Too bad you've missed the 420 sales, then because like i said $120 for the PAX Plus.
I can't believe they sell them at $200 and i say that as someone who owns one. and only you know what you are looking for and how you will use it. Best of luck.
