I think it's due to the link that imgbb gives you. It's not a direct link to the image, it's to a full HTML page with the image.
Dunno why but I can never get an image to work inside img tags
I tried yours and then just copied the direct image image link

Had the worst time uploading images like I used to. Kept getting "Image cannot be loaded from the passed link". Tried manually injecting the img tags and manually removing the "s" in https. And it works!!!!

I've been using imgbb to host my pics I post here because I remember recently when imgur stopped working here. However, I've recently noticed people recommending imgur to new users here to host the pics that they want to post. So, does that mean that imgur made some changes and is working again, but I missed the memo?

IMGUR was actively blocking our use here for a while. When VTAC came back for a short time he made some kind of agreement with them and got them to stop blocking us, so it has been working since then. Because I lost access to so many pictures I had hosted there (like I did permanently at Tinypic), I don't have a lot of confidence that something won't happen again, so I have been continuing to use IMGBB for the most part. I did do a test in here the other day to make sure IMGUR was still working and it is.
These are free services, so without recompense I can understand why they don't really care much about us when they decide to go. In truth, I keep a copy of anything I post to those services just in case they are disappeared again or access is disappeared. The links on any photos that they're hosting, however, will just die when they disappear. There is no way for us to go back and reassociate them with another service.

Thanks for the info.
Either way, I've never had an account with either of them, and just use them to host the individual pics anonymously. This is because I was living in TX for the first 5+ years I was posting and interacting here on FC (I've since moved to a legal state)...so I preferred to post as anonymously as possible, and the habit just stuck.

I usually will either upload by url to postimage or if I like the image, save to my drive and upload from there...in other words, the images I like I keep locally. Maybe I'll start using imgur again. Started out using imgur here but after the ban, postimage has been reliable.
