Vaporizer for powdered herbs: compatible with Solo 2?

Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out because I need help choosing a vaporizer based on my intended use. As a former cannabis smoker and alcohol user, I'm looking for a healthy alternative to relax in the evening. I plan to vape things like passionflower, damiana, valerian, lavender, blue lotus CBD, etc.

I ordered a Solo 2 after spending hours and hours making my choice, which I’ll receive tomorrow. However, after browsing Zamnesia to buy my first herbs, I noticed that they can also be purchased in powder form instead of shredded (and this threw me off and restarted the whole vaporizer selection process). The powder format seems convenient because I won’t need to grind it, and it’s probably more concentrated.

So, is powder meant for vaporizers? Is effect s powder are more intense than shredded form ? Will it be compatible with the Solo 2 ?

The trick with that, you will be packing tight, and you will probably want to make sure the solo is upside down the whole time so it doesn't get dirtier on the inside, also might need some of the looser herbs to block the air holes, or use a different stem with steel mesh screen instead, probably will want to use lower temp settings, fine grind typically means more vapor faster extraction (and that is probably true that those herbs need low low temps too) It is probably easier to use other conduction oriented vapes this way, that don't use the glass stem system, they have more of a chamber to load, if you specifically want fine powder grind though

Yeah, okay, so it seems like it would be annoying to do that with the Solo 2... But generally, can vaporization really be done with powder, or does no one do that?

I was curious, so I had a look. A brief look on that site suggests that the powdered form is for ingestion not inhalation. I did not check all of the powdered products.

No, personally I wouldn’t put anything in powder form in any of my electronic vapor devices.

Powder can migrate everywhere, concern would be getting into the circuitry, as well as coating every surface it contacts. Using a FINE grind of herb is problematic enough, but can be dealt with, by cleaning more often.
Good luck!

Hey guys, thanks for ur answer ! I have some news...
As expected, the solo 2 is not the best choice for my needed
The problem with these flowers is that when I grind them, they quickly turn into very fine powder, which I think is not suitable for the Solo 2 since it uses a convection system.

So, I am looking for a conduction vaporizer with a large chamber. While searching online, I came across these models: Pax Plus, DaVinci IQC, and Zeus Arc GT 3.
Which one do you think would be the best for my needs? Do you see any other models that could be a good fit?

Thank you in advance for your
help!

I don't think that you need to grind them. I use pieces of weed in my Solo 3. I just break bits off of a bud and use them directly. The same should work with the herbs you are wanting to use. I don't see a need to grind them for use in a Solo 3.

It is actually not at all pure convection, it is a hybrid with a very large amount of conduction...

I was describing models like Pax and IQ as other session conduction with more of a chamber, however you can use Solo the same way with the stem, but you need to pack tight, and you will probably want to mix with more coarse... (keep Solo upside down, use lower temps, draw slow) Yes you can also try the whole herbs or hand torn, don't even grind them
