Hi FC!
NOTE: I just wrote to the first mate of this Nomad to inform him of my intention to resell this Nomad. He has a priority purchase.
(It's Sunday, I had time to take photos and prepare the ad).
This is Nomad OG #011.
The main body is a sublime Canadian bigleaf maple burl.
The stem collar is blackwood.
The knob is lichen.
This is a very, very beautiful Nomad, but I didn't fall in love with it.
This Nomad is part of the first batch. The handle is made of Chiyogami. It was originally gilded in several places (see the last 3 photos). The gilding is no longer gilded, except on the red part.
There is some natural aging on the handle. There's also a slight crease, visible in some photos.
When I first received the Nomad, it had a smell of dust. I put it in a box with baking soda. That almost solved the problem. It's still not perfect.
The Nomad came with several non-functioning heaters. I'll add a high heater from my personal collection that works.
These points are relatively minor, but they contributed to my lack of a favorite.
But I'm very (too) demanding. And by highlighting these points, I'm sure you'll find one that you'll fall in love with.
To be completely transparent, I had intended to repaint the sleeve. It was a fairly advanced project since I was just starting to gather and receive supplies. But I thought someone would definitely like this Nomad OG from Dan... without modification...
I felt a bit like I was committing an unforgivable and irréversible sacrilege!
So, I'm going to wait for the first owner to get back to me. I don't want to publish the price I paid publicly, but I'm going to flag my post to the moderators, stating this amount. This way, potential buyers can verify the amount.
Don't forget that I have other ads in progress for magnificent Vapmans. And I'm still looking for Dan's vaporizers or accessories...
Take care
