Trying to do good in Rhode Island. Please read!

I have been posting and learning here for over a year now. I have also been unemployed. The unemployment rate in RI is still in double digits. We also are very close to having "compassion centers", but are now facing a huge hurdle put up by, none other than the Obama Administration.

In response I have gotten together with like minded people and created Ocean State Cannabis. Our goal is to educate, inform, and help the medical marijuana community in any way we can. In fact, I am heading to Providence to join the rally/press conference at the Statehouse right now.

Our site is new, but we have posted dozens of articles already. We also have a presence on FaceBook, YouTube, and Twitter. If you have a moment please stop by and check us out. If you like our sites, please like us on Facebook, etc.

Thanks for fighting. I would like to someday be a MMJ patient but it seems around here that it's so difficult to get in. Hopefully one day RI will be as MMJ-friendly as Cali or perhaps Colorado. Website looks good, thanks for posting.

Good luck with MMJ @ Massachusetts. Lived in Mass most of my life, though in RI for the past 5-6 years. Decriminalization saved me one of the few times I was caught with weed. $100 for the ticket, $20 for the gram; All-in-all $120 for a gram we never got to enjoy. Still kind of strange, I'm in a MMJ state but I can still be brought in for possessing a gram, then I drive 10 minutes down the road and I'm in a Non-MMJ state but a state where Marijuana is decriminalized, where I essentially won't get in trouble for possessing MJ. I hope some day it will all make sense. And I hope we will finally see some dispensaries in Rhode Island. Aside from aiding the many RI patients in need, this can open up a bunch of job opportunities in one of the nation's highest unemployed states.

Thanks everyone. This is clearly a national issue- not just a RI or MA issue. Right now Obama has changed his stance on MMJ Dispensaries and people all over the country could end up in jail.

I just wanted to let everyone know that we now have a review of FC on the site. OSC will be reviewing cannabis related web sites, products, stores, etc. This is our first review with many more to come. Since FC is one of my main visits everyday, I decided to review it first. Hope you like it!

Starting Thursday, Rhode Island medical marijuana patients will no longer have to pay $50 to obtain a medical card, a change that coincides with the start of recreational marijuana sales.
