Offsetting temp drop, yes we'll said. That's what an I meant. If it helps towards that then it's a really cool feature for a portable.

This early Angus arrived Monday. And damn there is another major player entering the portable battery vape race. Just great flavor here. Wonderfully simple interface. And for this price? Mind blown. As easy to quickly load as the Mighty. Plus the swappable batteries and they killer flavor it extracts (while still being quite thick at higher temps; I'll get pix with the new Prophet glass to see just how milky). Even if it doesn't approach the legendary battery life of the Mighty (too soon to tell), this is a statement vape.

And you can even feather your finger over the intake vent at the bottom to further modulate and control your hit (BTW v3 Pro folks don't sleep on its capability to do this too).

Anyhoo. Blown away at the outset. No deal breakers and only the most minor of quibbles (will wait until I've lived with them and given them as feedback to manufacturer @YLLVAPE OFFICAL before putting them out; along with manufacturer's thoughts they want to give in reply).

But really, Daaaaang. Really killer high too, so I'm thinking great extraction is being achieved.

P.S. coming from an owner of FW7, Mighty, Bowle, v3, B2, Halo, Anvil, Vapman and Herborizer...

Great to know you like it. We will do some improvements on the production units: 1, new magnets in the mouthpiece ( double stronger) to make sure no air leaking from the mouthpiece: I will send some to Scott as replacements for you guys. 2, some program improvements 3, New tweezer as accessory. 4, new Chamber O Ring: the dosing capsule is easy to take out (. Scott can replace new ORing for you)

Meanwhile, i know many ppl are concerns about halogen bulb might be broken easily. Our team has been testing on the bulb for long time, and its under controlled very well. Before packing, we will do heavy testing on each. Also Vgoodiez will have the replacing- bulb service if needed as well.

Good to hear more people are seeing this arrive.

We only had 10 units in the preproduction batch and those went to members of the team plus a few of the customer's who contacted us earlier. You are on the list when we get more and it will have the improvements mentioned above.

@Texus thanks for your feedback. It has been a lot of fun testing here too. I agree this is going to be one folks will want to consider, especially if they are seeking a session unit. It has a lot to offer and at this price point it should be a player.

Yes, had been looking at the magnets in the mouthpiece and had been thinking about DIYing stronger magnets.

I might have missed the dosing capsule and will need to check it out.

And oh my the single button with 5-6 lights around its edge to indicate both battery life (when you turn it on) and heating level. Just so well done. Very very intuitive.

When you have one for some testing can you please share with the thread how this vape compliments a TM2 since you have one of each?

If necessary you could post a full comparison in AskFC.

I guess this is "the price" of being an early adopter.

I don't have one, but recently been using TM2 a lot. But here are my thoughts as a future Argus owner (most likely)

It's actually portable. Argus has that Mighty carry around in your jacket pocket aesthetic. Solid and elegant in use/reload.

The TM I bought as a portable, but it's not great at the task. It's fragile and fiddly. When outdoors you have to carry around stems, and have somewhere to sit so you can reload etc. Then you also need to get that draw speed sweet spot for maximum extraction.

I certainly would not have it in a jacket pocket ready to pull out and vape. TM is more like a portable desktop. You take it on holiday. You take it to the hotel you are staying in for work etc.

Argus has the strengths of the mighty in this way. Also easy reload perfect for out and about. Argus is something I would take for a walk in the park.

It has the mighty beat in that chamber seems larger. Heat goes higher (mighty max temp is too low for many) and it seems to have top tier flavour, which to me correlates with top tier extraction and high.

It will also be a better unit to pass around to others. The TM even on session mode is fiddly to none vapists. Still need to really zone in the draw speed in this mode.

Last synergy is they both use replaceable batteries. If you have spare batteries charged in a rotation for your TM then you are already good to go with the Argus.

Alright so after 3 or 4 burn off cycles the smell is fine, so I just ran a session.

I started at the lowest setting and stepped up once the vapor got too wispy. I've used the standard mouthpiece. The glass tube is really nice, makes the experience less plastic. The way it twists makes it possible to sip it more like a flask or more like a juice box. I was glad to find the flask style with the glass tube upright works really nice as the juice box position feels a bit unnatural to me.

It achieves nice extraction and vapor at all temp settings, so the flavorful low temp hits can really be enjoyed with this device. And despite the plastic in the vapor path it manages to deliver a very pure taste.

Herb was evenly extracted, which is the only avb variable that interests me really. It's definitely the easy to use device I was hoping for (that also delivers on all the must have criteria of a nitpicky vapor snob ). In my communication with the maker it became clear already that he was committed to making a device that appeals to the community and I think they really nailed it. I'd be surprised if this doesn't become my go to session device and also advice for session device. Also for people new to vapes it will make an awesome entry.

Also glad to see that early feedback is quickly being picked up. Pretty impressive launch, especially since it's their first portable vape that also has an unconventional heating style. Happy so far and eager to spend some more time with it

Could you do an experiment for me?

I would really like to know the max you can fit in the bowl medium grind, and still extract well/fully. Bowl looks like a 0.2 to me. But would be interesting to know for sure.

A bit off topic but I have to say that isn't my experience at all.
Before the TM2, I brought my TM everywhere with me (hike, concerts etc.) without any protection, directly in my backpack or jacket/jeans pocket. It's not that fragile at all.
I also don't find it fiddly at all. You can straw suck your herbs directly from your grinder or have preground flower at hand, and you can easily straw suck while running if you want (I may be exaggerating a bit but your get my point, héhé).
I made almost all my friends and even strangers, with no experience with vaporisers, try my TM and everyone of them got a very nice cloud (with no special instructions on draw speed).

I've took my TM2 hiking couple of times now. And it's much more fiddly compared to whipping out a mighty/Argus and just puffing away.

Each to their own, but since buying TM2 I'm still looking for a different portable. I adore the TM2 as the taste and effects are best I've experienced. But I want a portable that can be used as a bit of a beater.

Yeah Angus definitely has this ruggedness you describe. And yeah I get that in some settings it's just nice to have a portable running that you can sip from without giving it a second thought or a button push I know I will reach for my Angus on dog walks from now on for example.

I'm even more impressed now. It shows how effective the heating is, the vapor just kept coming til my lungs couldn't take no more. This was at setting 4 (out of 5). I'm pretty high rn

Very happy to see that it's so nice with water. This makes the device even more appealing for my personal vaping style. I will later try it with some dry glass if i can get it to fit (the wpa is beta and has some compatibility challenges).

The ease of use of the Angus is really nearly identical to that of the Mighty. What got me to buy my Mighty (in addition to it awesome battery life) was Troy on 420 Vape Zone's comparison vid between TM and Mighty. There he really lays out how quickly and easily it is to refill a Mighty, and emphasizes that user experience side of the vapes. All of which would apply to Angus: Pop off top, dump ABV, doob tube quick refill bowl and go!

Another nice feature from how they handled the WPA is that with the threads on the WPA base you open up the possibility of some threaded mouthpiece accessories. And with the stock mouthpiece, that design is such that I don't think it would be hard to 3D print and design other options for mouthpieces that way either. The key magnetic portion is a separate piece from the larger mouthpiece part.

Anyway I really don't understand the sentiment, that a mighty, or this, is easier to load, if anything it is the same, but I find it easy to empty a glass stem chamber by blowing the vaped bud out, and then you can just suck up a fresh bowl of greens... I find it more annoying to try to pour into a bowl on the go personally, and to try to empty that bowl, also seems like it's going to get pretty dirty?? And you can never fully remove it to clean entirely...

It's just the nature of these devices, I'm excited to try it, I'm just not sure how well it really will be for me, with pure convection on demand it is so easy to clear your hits fully, even using session style with separate glass stem chamber you can remove the vape to clear, but here with the fixed chamber, session style heating, I would feel uncomfortable every time I stopped inhaling, feeling like backflow residual vapor could go over the heater area, aside from potential particles falling in there ... It's a psychological thing I hope to overcome because this seems very practical especially at the price!!
