Just grab one from the store. There are currently not all wood options available.

Very good decision and I think you'll be in for a hell of a surprise!
You'll have to find out about the Log for yourself but let me tell you that your choice of wood will not disapoint you.
Padouk, also called "coral wood" is absolutely stunning and not just some red wood. I'm surprised this thread is not flooded with Padouk CL pics already.
The finish of the pieces that I've worked with are hard to describe, so see for yourself.
This one's only sanded to a very fine grain and waxed.
The colour will change after time from this intense red to an orange brown if not protected with something UV-resistant though. Indoor it will take some time I guess, but it will happen sooner or later. Makes it even more charming imho.
I'm surprised this thread is not flooded with Padouk CL pics already.

I hardly ever use water, but I often hit it on a j-hook. The direct draw stem is great too.
The CL is great though water but I tend to 1-shot it when I do and it puts me on my ass. In a good way.

Just saw this post, and I’d advise against any oil/wax that can go rancid.I clean the mouthpiece regularly with soap and water.
It's an interesting experience to see the wood get wet and dark, then wipe it off and wait for it to dry; before running a cloth lightly soaked in olive oil over the wood, which will highlight its contrasts and make it shine.
The wood is clean, pleasant to see and to touch; the slight taste of hazelnut/olive that accompanies the first 2 clouds bring a note of season, in the northern hemisphere.
It's a bit like cooking, presentation counts, giving the same care to the ice bang as to the CL, that's when the clouds look best.

I can't imagine oiling my logs with olive oil. This guy really needs to hear about this, that kind of vegetal oil will go rancid. Use mineral oil mixed with beeswax

This is the only oil I have on hand, the olives that make it up are organic, hand-picked and crushed by a stone mill.
I find it hard to imagine that olive oil could be inadvisable in certain cases, but there are indeed hardening oils and oils that are always liquid. Olive oil is classified as always liquid and therefore can rancidify wood. It is generally the hardening (siccativity) oils that are preferred for treating wood : oil of perilla, chia, china wood, linen and hemp.
I read that another option is to add beeswax to olive oil to treat the wood, have you ever heard of this?

I preferred the oak wood because it grows where the CouchLog is produced, the olive oil because the olive trees grow 20 meters from the house and I wonder if the beeswax would be suitable because my neighbor's hive is 7 meters away

Regardless of how pure/organic the olive oil is, it will go rancid. Mixing it with beeswax will not change this. Mineral oil and beeswax mixes are common, food-safe treatments for things like wood cutting boards and dishware, so they are good for our purposes too.Thank you for this information

Beeswax alone will more than suffice to treat the wood.

Hey dudes, does anyone know if the CL glass bowl is available for purchase elsewhere? Catastrophe struck, in the form of a puppy, The bubbler was fine (thank Dog) but the bowl snapped right above the joint. I will usually buy two bowls for these exact occasions but since they’re €35 and I wasn’t sure how much I’d use it, I only got the one.
Of course, turns out that’s my main & favoured method of using the CL
, and I discovered to order a replacement with shipping is €65, which is just stupid money to spend on a clear glass bowl. Plus once it hits the UK, unless I get very lucky, there would be import duties. Unfortunately, guess I’m gonna put the CL up for a while until I get the extra cash to order two replacements so the shipping cost won’t sting so much. It was a lovely honeymoon though and I’ll definitely be back with more rambling posts!

A 14mm adapter works great like this one I mentioned from TRWW:Wouldn't this + a 18 to 14mm adapter do the trick? It's not the best because you'd have too much surface area but it could do the trick I think.

I finally bit the bullet and picked up a glass bowl from 420eng. I wish I'd just grabbed one when I purchased my Couchlog, but I wanted to make sure I liked it before stocking up on "extras" (laughable in retrospect). While it requires a *slightly* higher temp than the stock metal chamber, it definitely has some killer flavor to offer.
I did fiddle a bit finding the best screen for it. The one provided worked ok, but I found that the Boundless Tera chamber screens work really well as a sturdier option (had some on hand from when I used these in a Sticky Brick). I bent the screen in half to get it to drop in, and then bent it back to flat once inside the bowl (pic of setup below):
