Flower Mill

Totally agree here. Some really nice improvements on a grinder that was already winning my reach test.

And wow, the Mini is really lovely. Looking at its size, multiple plates might be tricky. Or add too much cost. They might be better off offering different sized of Mini.

But the Mini instantly replaces my prior on-the-go grinder (ZAM, which was great for storage/debowler but not a great grinder). And so pretty in that purple. Really pops in person.

Got a mini yesterday, for me at least it doesn't need swappable plates. The size of the milled herb was lovely in an Airvape Legacy Pro. This thing's super awesome and built like a tank. Compared to a traditional grinder with teeth this is really a big step up. Even next to a quality grinder it just works so much better.

I've only used mine twice, but it really makes me feel sorry for the people out there who are using a free plastic grinder that a dispensary or smoke shop tossed in an order for free lol.

Why not post this in the actual FM thread instead though? Just too high?? ;)

Yeap, and I even posted in that thread a few days ago, so it's not like I didn't know there was one, doh lol. I'm not going to post any more shit while I'm blitzed. Mods feel free to move my posts into the official thread. It rocks though, I'm about to go shred up some herb just because I'm so fascinated by how it works.

so damn smooth

Just received my mini. Took awhile thanks to Canadian customs but it was worth the wait. Feels great in the hand and easy to use. Makes such a nice and fluffy mill/grind. I like how it easily separates the stems. I think this may have shelved my bcg. If they release a stainless steel mini I think that may be my new grinder for life.

I like the logo too. Great product!

I got the mini a few weeks back (zero reason to get one other than GAS) -

Pros:
The purple color is outstanding!
Love the size, form factor.
The only threads are for reserve section and barely needs a full turn to open it.
Price is worth it.

Cons:
The grind is a bit too coarse for me, a few tiny nugs fall through. But this is definitely MY issue as I tend to like a finer grind.
The reserve is so easy to open that I occasionally open it while grinding milling.

Here is a grind comparison with the 2nd from largest (coarse) plate and mini:

Here is comparison with smallest (extra fine) plate which is my go-to:

And here is a look at all the plates compared to the mini, just cause I took the picture, so may as well post it:

Haven't tried it with Flower Mills but grinding upside down is generally a nice way to get a finer grind.

Yeah I do this with the stainless one and it is an improvement. But with dank weed it's just not the greatest match, because the smaller stems that normally just break up and are hardly noticeable are moist and flexible. This pretty much fucks up the whole concept of the mill and you need something that cuts for that.

For somewhat drier herb it is one of the smoothest experiences though.

E: plus I have the old mill pattern, I think the new one will deal with my issue better, though I expect not as good as a cutting grinder.

I guess my question at this point is, is the Flower Mill an upgrade to the BCG? Or is it just a different animal considering there is going to be a SS version of the brilliant cut?

I have had this thing in the cart serveral times and just didn't pull the trigger. I don't want to fix a problem I don't have, I have zero complaints about my BCG but I'm always down for something better if it actually is.

This has been discussed a few times on the Herb Grinders thread:

Probably better to avoid comparing in the FM thread.

We don’t do comparisons on this thread so I won’t compare to BCG.

I’ll just say that this is a milling design. I believe this is the only company putting out a grinder that mills.

I haven’t noticed a difference in the milled flower to any of my other grinders. Others feel differently.

But what stands out to me is that I just dump all my herb and can grind way more flower than any comparably sized grinder.

Yes, this may be the most underappreciated aspect of the Mill. No need to squeeze flower between teeth of a traditional grinder.

This and the variety of sizes of grind thru the plate system are the big differentiars of the Mill in my book.

Does anyone use this with a TM vape? Does the grind work well with a TM?
You might need to check TM thread to see what grind size folks prefer for that one. But between all the discs, can't imagine you couldn't find one or more that work really well. I mean, you have consistent grind size across the board. With consitecy established, you just need to figure out combination of grind and packing density that works best for you. Much of that comes down to personal preferences.

I did use the coarse with mine, I mean that extra chunky plate, not the standard coarse plate it comes with, specifically when using TM with the 3in1 WPA that has the glass honeycomb screen, to create a whole nug vaping type experience, only even better!

I have the large flowermill with the stainless steel blades and milling kit I use a med plate and it's fluffy and wixx for my use which is my iQ2 and TM2 , its definitely more flavoursome. I have to say that ppl complaining about damp bud not grinding lol In my experience grinding 101 is dry your bud, no grinder will efficiently grind damp bud and I have the ripper, and the plenty other good ss grinders damp bud does not grind. Keep it fresh but leave it dry before you mill or grind, for me I mill I'll never got back to grinding each to their own.

Yeah I got some well regards ss as well and I agree they are not ideal either (though not a lot worse than the mill). I'm hoping a certain aluminum grinder will help solve my annoyance, otherwise I'll probably go back to preparing by hand.

Have you tried the electrical ones I haven't but back in the day is used to use my coffee grinder one of the push to grind variety if you were careful you could get a good grind, so has anyone used the CV waki electric ones they look interesting
