The Lotus Vaporizer

Shouldn't it be possible to just unscrew the cap, rotate it a few degrees and drill new holes?
Yea
I will try it! I don't have a driller only a screwdriver in this size but I'll try something!

Otherwise I'll try some wood glue, thanks!

Never tried with anything this small or delicate, but in larger applications, I’ve had luck just using the next size up screw in the same hole.

Making a filler seems more elegant.

So big thanks to the user Grey Area, it's because of them I now have a Lotus! Had it just under a week now maybe, so full thoughts to come soon, but really liking it so far.
Gotta admire the courage of someone who can part with a Lotus! But one man gathers what another man spills, and happily so!

Powerful desktop vapes are wonderful, but there's something special about these classic, handcrafted manual vapes, many of which suffer no shortage of power once you begin to unlock their mysteries.

The Lotus really is one of the best!

Yo! I'm thinking I may take a stab at remaking some of these lotus vapes. I am a design engineer by trade, I've got a lotus on hand to pull measurements from and I've got a machine shop in china that are excellent at milling stainless. PM me if you're interested and I'll get moving on the design; thinking there may be potential for improvement so I'd love to hear it.

This sounds exciting and I think a lot of people will be interested. I had mentioned to Max, the manufacturer, that I thought that it might be good to have a more durable substance than wood for the vapor cap. I suggested a ceramic material, being non-flammable, but Max said he'd already investigated it and machining the holes for the tiny screws would be difficult – and expensive. But I still think an alternative material would improve the ownership experience, if not the vape experience.

I looked into aa lot of ideas for this a while bck. Was actually thinking about lotus the other day. S&B uses PEEK pastic, which is medically certified, and has super high temp resistance, and its durable enough ti be used in implants. Really cool stuff!

The lotus does have a patent I belive. May want to look into that if you havnt already and at one point he was selling the business. I think it's a great idea to bring it back!

I saw that his business was for sale on a reddit post but the post was taken down. I know a few ways to get creative around the patent, that being said I'm not looking to screw anyone over; I feel like I just want to pay homage to a really great device that quite a few people are still interested in. I've taken a stab at creating my own vape, which works great but there's no way its affordable - I enjoyed the project but am looking to help some like minded folks out.

Good luck @lotus_remake
I think you'd get a lot of interest here on FC, maybe approach Lotus about it.
Feels like there should be something in it for the original designer, it can be rough for ODs when an innovation is copied without due compensation.

I think the WPA is a critical piece with this vape. I find hitting it with the aluminum pipe lacks the cooling I need with my throat.

I sure hope you and Max can work something out @lotus_remake

And while I am not as down on the pipe as others I do think there is room for improvement there. Might want to take a look at what Tafee Bowle does inside their stems.
