Tafée Bowle

I have the plastic potter. I've tried to make it work, but it's bukly and not as portable as the Altoids tin I'm using currently. And neither of them seem to be as air-tight as the little pillboxes that dynavap has been sending out recently.

This looks better than what I am using right now, however if it doesn't make the mint tin air-tight, then I'll still be trying to find a better solution to be able to store pots in it overnight and not have to worry about significant degredation to the herb. Do you own it currently? Any thoughts?

Thanks!

.... I wonder if Delta3d could make a silicone rectangle the same size as this thing that we could lay on top of the pots. I would be perfectly happy with that solution. And then I'd just store the mint tin in some other container that is compact and airtight...

Sorry I do not own one, so I cant comment on that specifically. I just use the black piece from the plastic potter that holds 4 pots and put it inside an empty one of these that screws shut tight: https://www.amazon.com/Got2b-Inplay...sr_1_22?keywords=got2b&qid=1657582729&sr=8-22

Fit's well, and I'm sure there are many other similar containers that could work.

This has probably been discussed a bit but anyways, what are y’all using to store loaded “pots”? Looking for something compact and airtight that can hold 4x pots. I will make something eventually if I can’t find a suitable solution. Ideas???

Decided to take the plunge as I share some of your concerns about this company but I wanted to experience it before it was out of reach (hopefully that doesn't happen).

I have a feeling after the initial honeymoon I am gonna wanna experiment with this thing. My neighbor is an EE so I'm curious if we could make any progress doing some sort of a USB-C conversion and/or removable battery mod. I'm not afraid to get in and mess with it if there's something that can be improved for everyone in a way that's user-serviceable. Maybe I'm dreaming and this is totally unrealistic, but that's what's on my mind.

What other problems do you guys feel like you're running into often? The power stuff actually doesn't really bother me at all but what I do want to make sure and give some focus to is durability. What points of failure seem to come up often? I'd love to find a way to make this thing a little more robust for people who care to tinker a little.

To the best of my recollection, I think I've only heard about issues with the battery and charging related circuitry. How killer would a v2 along the lines of TM's update be.

Were you able to purchase one 'new'??

One other relatively minor issue is the screen. If pushed upwards, it can hit the (apparently fragile) temp sensor.
So the screen could be improved somehow, so it cannot become dislodged like that.

That new Linx Switch has a pot container that has a lid and shuts...maybe the Taffe pots fit in there too...dont know. I am trying to buy one of these and they are all sold out. I am sure everyone here knows that. I hope they start up soon. I have not heard anything bad about this vape ever. I would love to have one.

Man, it seems like these have been out of stock for a while now.
It is such a fantastic product...should we worry they are done? No. Right? Impossible. The website is fantastic...I think maybe they are getting ready to introduce something new...they should. Like Tinymight. I did not think that could get any better...but, it did. I would love a Tafee Bowle...I guess we have to wait.

I am trying to buy one of these and they are all sold out.

They are technically still in stock on place, if you don’t mind paying extra for shipping and waiting for it to go through customs.. My VAS is itching to get a second one as a just-in-case backup, because I love it so much. (But then my pocketbook reminds me that I’m also eyeing the release of the TM2 and more than one Bowle is frankly overkill in my situation)

The only place currently in stock is the Canadian POTV website (so you have to manually switch from US to the Canadian site)
The only one is stock is the small cup and stem, but that’s no issue. if you really want you can buy a tall stem and cup from Tafée directly, they might even toss in some extras for you.
They are a really fantastic company, and the bowle a fantastic product.
Hopefully these supply chain issues are just that, and or that it’s getting resolved with minimal impact on my the company’s longevity.

If you are really wanting one- order it from POTV🇨🇦 as soon as possible! They will not likely be in stock too much longer, especially now that I’ve let the ‘secret’ out.

I may still be in the honeymoon stage (i bought in April) but I still absolutely love it, and I even wish the TM had some of the Bowles design features (the biggest being the oven of the Bowle will, in theory, never get dirty. Unless you screw something up like blow into the device, this makes maintenance potentially hands free (grab clean stem/pot, put the dirty ones in a bath for the day, rinse it out and repeat as needed)

Hi...I had checked at Planet of the Vapes earlier and they were out of stock. I rechecked and again...Out of Stock...

Check here specifically-

The Canadian version of the site-it’s a different warehouse with different inventory apparently. (Also a separate account, if you have a POTV account you will not be able to log into the Canadian site with it)

I could be wrong but it says it’s in stock and let’s me almost checkout without a problem.

Edit:to be clear there will possibly be a shipping cost, and you might have to “pay” in Canadian dollars/that’s how it will bill, but it’s should be roughly the same as the US sites cost

I want the Tinymight 2...I want one of these as well but, the price is too much for me right now.

That's Canadian dollars, btw (about $355 US).
But the site seems to only allow shipping to Canadian addresses...

Oh! I am embarrassed...thank you for clarifying. I still am poor to purchase it. I went ahead and bought the new Linx Switch to try it out. I am saving for the Tinymight now...then, I really want one of these Bowle's...looks amazing to me. This vape is the strangest thing I have seen and yet so, friggen practical. I feel when I am vaping so thirsty all the time. Dry. This is just perfect. LOL What an ingenious design.

The cup is really optional and for most, secondary to the excellent vapor quality!

Good catch! I never noticed that you couldn’t actually change the shipping country.
I guess you could still possibly have a mail forwarding service deliver it… but it does seem like an over the top hassle, and risk, for an already expensive device.
(Although, surprisingly, still worth it for how fantastic this device really is )

What other problems do you guys feel like you're running into often?
So I’ve been mulling this over for a bit now, and I finally have what I consider to be a worthy suggestion-
An all glass, or zirconia, air and vapor pathway.

-I like the oven/pot design, (how it pulls heat down through the top of bowl instead of up through it, seems to keep it MUCH cleaner than the standard, heat from below, design) but I don’t love the aluminum alloy in the vapor path.
Idk, maybe I’m being overly, or ignorantly, cautious.
But I’m starting to worry more and more about how much aluminum is in everything. (I’ve heard both that it’s fine, and that it’s neurotoxic :hmm: -Both, that it’s fine unless you’re vaporizing the aluminum at super high temps, and that it shouldn’t even be in the vapor path (or on your head:tinfoil:). The research is unfortunately lacking, and somewhat inconclusive for a definitive answer. (And I’m not on board with the, well everyone’s doing it, so it must be fine attitude of the manufacturers)
I admit the aluminum alloy stem works better than great for cooling, and I love the device as is.

But an option for an all glass, or zirconia air path would be, potentially, even better. (Even if the vapor temperature increased due to less cooling power)

Or rather, implement the heater with temperature sensor combo and oven design (how it stays clean and in theory never needs to be cleaned) into a pocketable/portable design with an all glass or zirconia pathway. (With the same, heat from above the material and j hook back up, design)
[VERY similar to the TokedVapors device, but with the addition of the Bowle temp sensor. I do trust Jorge, but I really love the function/vapor signature of the Bowle as is, and I’m skeptical of the tubo software and lack of an independent temperature sensor being able to replicate it perfectly. (I get that the heater, IS the temperature sensor, but I feel like the independent sensor might make for more consistent worry free, and combustion free hits.)-although I could be wrong, and I am willing to jump on board to the TokedVapors device immediately if that is the case!]

I also keep thinking the tiny might could benefit from the oven design/configuration of the Bowle (As, it seem that unless you only use it upside down with a WPA, microscopic bits of material can fall through the screen into the heater. Or even if the screen works, having to replace and clean the screen is an extra hassle that makes cleaning the device itself necessary)-(where as only having to clean the accessories to the device means, in theory, it is never out of service and you can just rinse and swap clean stems and pots out for dirty ones in an iso bath)

Anyways, let us know when you get it!
And if you have any luck cracking her open with that friend of yours!
While I’m sure Tafée doesn’t necessarily want the internals revealed, I’m very curious how this device preforms its magic, and what makes it so special. (and if that can be implemented to more devices)
[I get that people should be proud of their ideas, and why you have to protect your intellectual property in the current world setup/why there are patents… however, wouldn’t the world be an infinitely better place if we all shared our ideas, and combined the best of them. (instead of competing and comparing having one benifit over another instead of just making products that don’t sacrifice anywhere)-:disgust:what a concept!?!]

Would you pay $900 for that?
…never in the past..but now..honestly maybe.
It would have to be the ultimate device to cost that much or more though. (Like an on demand miniature minivap)
On top of the ‘pure’ glass/zirconia pathway, it would need to rival some of the best desktop ball setups and have replaceable batteries, all while still fitting in a pocket/one hand.
But yeah if it did all that while being in a well manufactured/strong and sleek form factor, I’d toss down $900 any day of the week for that.

Arguably the TokedVapors does a basic version of what I’m talking about for about $190 + shipping. I just wish the body was stronger than 3d printed plastic.

man this is such an interesting space to inhabit. Me in my 20s would have scoffed at an idea like that but the older I get the more I'm inclined to pay a higher price to get something that actually functions in a reliable and elegant way. I'm happy that's the case too, because I know just from my own personal projects how much hard work these smaller handmade makers/outfits put in. And that to me is worth it when the device works as advertised.

I have spoken to so many people about this and they ALL have positive remarks....like overloaded positive remarks. I also saw as many videos on Youtube as possible and the big reviewers all had positive comments! I think I am going to LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE it. But, this will have to wait.
