Dreamwood Glow

I checked it, everything is fine, there are no dark spots.

I think it's the wood. Check the inside of the wooden sleeve, near the heater. You may see it scorched/blackened, especially if you're running it in the high W range.

Long time lurker, first time poster here.

I got a walnut RCV18 a few months ago, and out of the vapes I have it probably had the toughest learning curve (found it more difficult than e.g., a hydrobrick w/o disks). Flavour was great, but I found it hard to stabilise that satisfying, flavourful hit sweet spot between nothing's happening and combustion, or at least singeing and hotspots. After a while I got dialled in well though, still had issues with hotspots. Inspecting the ABV fully it wasn't much (just a small ring (<1mm) of green weed around a crispy central hotspot), but still left me feeling like I hadn't gotten it down properly. Also, since you're meant to load the MP, no chance to stir after a few hits, because it'd just all drop out (unless I vape doing a handstand). Actually emailed Dreamwood, they were nice and helpful in their response, but essentially suggested readjusting the coils which seemed like too much hassle, so I tried another thing first - just dump my weed in the bowl (not the mouthpiece), flatten the bowl gauze out a little, go down with the watts, see what happens. Turns out, it works like a charm. I can mix it up every few hits, even by just shaking, my ABV is super even, it's easier to fill, no singeing or anything. I'm not a huge fan of killing a bowl in one go, which may even be possible, but I tend to get like 5-7ish nice draws.

As for the actual piece, I have a whole bunch of vapes, particularly addicted to the wooden ones, and it is absolutely a piece of art. Also a lot of cool stuff that you get with it, super cool vape for people who don't mind trying to figure a vape out, definite recommendation.
Just a question. Did i understand that correct. You put the herb into the bowl wher you also put your MP in it? What do you do with the Screen? What do you mean with flatten? And is there enough place then for the MP when you put everything in the Bowl?

You use a custom firmware? And that mods doesnt heat up? I have a heat sink and still have the heat warning on the voopoo, I have to change it
Yeah, Arcfic fox
but dunno if it matters
Ravage 230 on wattage 50W it was great, fully opened airflow.. your airflow is fully opened?

Mech mods are a recipe for disaster. Riding these high power cells without any kind of protection is borderline suicidal...
+1
the battery gets also hot after few 50W sessions... it's too dangerous

PS
but on the other hand, for the Glow with a normal mod, 50W sounds not too much! (comparing to tubo for example 70w peak) are you sure that it's not possible to use 50W with your own mod, with FULLY opend airflow? not half

I used my Ravage 230 without an heat sink and never had any problem with 55W even

You have to beat up the glow to make my rx gen3 to warm up too much. It happens to me with metal DHV attys though.
I use it half way open at 40W, I'm gonna get a mech mod to use with the glow 18
Please don't, you'll risk yourself for nothing.

The closest thing I tried is a big ss spiral coil (not with the glow's deck though). I guess you won't have great results with this because of the hole in the middle.
Good point  would be great to have some kind of coil like that (without hole).
Was great the SS spiral?
Did you ever try the SS 316l notch coils with tcr?

kokolokokolokon,
sorry for the inconvenience, I ask you who are more experienced and practical, what is the difference between the two models in the picture which are both 18 mm? does it only change the accessories with which it is composed or does it change the deck? are they different models? there is a 50 euro difference thanks to who will answer me

The internal should be the same. I know that the regular glow design (pic #1) supports 19/26 stems. IDK about the second one but i'd ask dreamwood before buying because the wooden cover looks straighter than usual, so it might support 19/19 or something instead.
@Dreamwood ?

has arrived !! Very nice construction it seems of excellent quality , now I start to clean it

https://ibb.co/X8r5QzN

PS Were the wires with which the coils were made cleaned with ISO alcohol first?
I will carry out a cleaning and lubrication o ring. Are there tables or references for the reconstruction of coils with simple wires like a 20 awg or even complex ones just to get an idea or do I have to retranslate the values from online calculators like steame engine? a thousand thanks

happy Sunday everyone, sorry if I'm petulant and full of questions, waiting to know from the manufacturer which coils are installed and if the spare ones are in KA or SS I'm going to WW with a curve starting from 50 ww as shown in the photo, who uses the pre heat at what set it and for how many seconds? at the moment I'm going to rehearsals, I noticed however that with the capsules the material is cooked more homogeneously and better in general, too bad that to remove them then you have to pull down several saints ....:wave:

It's the KA coils which are preinstalled.

Built this ss316L staggered fused clapton coils the other day, they perform great and gives me even AVB without steering. You need to be careful not to make them too long coils becuase one of the ends end up touching my wooden body and left a black ugly mark :( (That photo is kinda outdated though, the ends doesn't go outside the deck anymore).
