Anvil by Vestratto

My Anvil and assorted accessories are ‘out for delivery’. I’ve got several different lighters to try, so I’m covered there.

Are y’all giving yours an ISO bath before first use? It’s pretty standard for me to do this with metal vapes.

And as it relates to Vestratto business practices; I couldn’t be happier. I received an email last Sunday saying I’d get my waitlist link on Monday at noon. I did, I made the purchases at about 12:30 that day with one small hiccup due to my bank. And in one week plus a couple of hours I’ll be in possession of what I expect to be a fabulous vaporizer for my nighttime meds.

Cheers fuckers.
Yup, I urge you to disassemble and clean it before using it. When I first got mine I put it empty in an IH and there were some burn offs from machining which is totally fine. Just remember to clean the vape before using it for first time!

Even unscrewing the bowl when hot I've accidentally adjusted airflow, then had a hard time adjusting it back while hot. It's honestly not the best design there
Not sure how this is happening, even if the chamber is screwed in too tightly which means you would need the unit to cool before unscrewing as a magnet would just slip due to the tightness. This is definitely a 1st, could you please post a video so i could show John as we have never had this complaint before nor experienced it. I would like to see your technique to see if theres anything you are doing differently because the chamber dont lock onto the oven tight enough when using the unit correctly.

You should be using a magnet to turn and tighten the chambers on and off, are you finger tightening the chambers on?

Manufacturer
The Anvil is a new vape being released by Vestratto. Completely made in North America, it is constructed of 3 layers. The outer and inner skins are stainless with a copper core layer sandwiched between them. It has many similarities to a DynaVap as well as many advantages.

Similarities:
  • flame powered
  • round marker like design
  • temperature clicker
Advantages:
  • Copper Core More Evenly Heats
  • Scientifically Designed Using Lung Inhalation Principles
  • Clicker Measures Bowl Temp Not Cap Temp
  • Real Adjustable Airflow Through The Herb
  • Designed To Excel At Riding The Line (1 bowl fully extracted in 1 hit)
  • Changeable Bowl Types & Sizes
  • Natively Fits 14mm Female Down Stems
  • Standard Bowl Holds Slightly More Than a DynaVap
We had to coin a new term to describe the Anvil Experience:
"Estratto"
An "Estratto" is a Dab from flower! A perfect extraction that faithfully reproduces the herb's essence.

This is a video showing loading a standard bowl, heating and ripping it through water. Instant whitewall so thick it looks like smoke, but it's all tasty vapor as evident by the ABV shown.

Was I supposed to have a spiral filter in my anvil? I noticed taking it apart there wasn't one included and I just assumed it was only for founder editions.
I think the founders had an extra long condenser, where the users has a short condenser and the spiral filter. You should contact them I think 👍

Mine just arrived today, and I can't wait to try it out. After inspecting the device overall really its beautiful, but I do think that the top of the bowl. should have been finished better For the price, I think whats shown in the pic should have been "cleaner", and there should be instructions down the road for future orders IMO. We'll see how it tests out after a clean.

These are the parts you should have:

On last week post he addressed this. Basically, If I understood correctly, they’ll focus more on polishing the mouthpiece and less on the bowl.

Take a look at the last picture:

Happy to see you got your Anvil!!
John mentions the laser welding on his Sunday post last week, if you scroll down to the bottom you will see where he talks about it and shows pictures

My Anvil arrived on Friday and I've been using it consistently since.

The learning curve is minimal, using a Thunderbird twin jet insert for my Zippo I aim for 1/4" away from the inner blue jet to the Anvil itself and that takes about 40 seconds to click.

Typically extracting in one major pull and a minor follow up.

This thing is rapidly replacing my Tinymight as my Daily Driver.

Incredible.
Yeah it dominates the reach test for me. Very little fuss to use, and incredibly quick. If I'm rushing out the doors, I know I can crush a couple of chambers in no time.

First two bowls as an Anvillain were 👌

First was only half packed, two heat cycles, more middle of the heater extraction.

Second was closer to a full bowl. I turned the torch up a bit and heated at the lower copper ring above the thermal battery. Just the one heat cycle and this is the abv after a copious amount of very dense vapor. I don't know that I've ever had a hit like that and apparently that's not even riding the line! Respect @Vestratto and thanks @Whiff

So the Sunday Post said nothing of last weeks drop happening or not, only the special sale. Also was hopping for an update on the Founders new parts that I hope will be available soon. And hopefully this week's drop will happen in the time frame said. Oh and also read that now the production can't keep up with the list and I thought he said previously that they would be able to clear the list. Good luck all! Maybe Thursday! Just a little disappointed. But still have my fingers crossed.
I thought they had stopped Sunday post ? Thanks,
ive not had it for last 2 weeks,
canceled an order maybe that’s why ,nice …

Been hitting this thing watching @Whiff YouTube which has been a massive help and now heating lower and getting pretty much all the goodness in one. Think I may need a bigger torch tho. Just using a little Prof jet lighter. Hits me harder than a dab for sure lol! Need to learn to get a few hits out a bowl now ;)

I'm guessing the threads are getting caught and it's spinning the body instead. I'm typically high when I notice it, but that's what I'd assume is happening.

Just another traveller in the Cannaverse
My Anvil arrived mid-afternoon, and as advised I gave it an ISO bath followed by a good soapy rinse in hot water. I practiced taking it apart and putting it back together a few times. It took me a while to figure out how to set it up for the right air flow, but after a bit of practice I got it dialed in.

It also took me a few incredibly tasty hits to dial in the lighter as well. The Firefox failed for me hard. I could not adjust the flame for shit. What’s up with that? But an Honest torch I had worked great.

I got it dialed in on about the 6th bowl. Just a few minutes ago. Not horrible on the first day of a new vaporizer over 7 hours.

I give the device high marks for design and function. It really does deliver. Although with the full bowl I can’t get total one bit extraction. Close…but the second is usually good enough to be necessary. I think I’ll order a couple 1/2 bowls when I get back from this weekend’s shows.

I RTL for the first time. Minutes ago. On a second heating cycle. Damn. It’s so much about dialing in the length of the flame, distance from the Anvil, angle and direction of flame. And that’s fun. I can’t wait to make that repeatable.

And it immediately makes me interested in whatever IH they come out with.

Here’s what I don’t like. There’s no fucking directions. Not in the package and not online. And I knew that going in. But…That’s just silly. If it wasn’t for this forum, a couple of @Sneaky Pete videos, and @Whiff videos on YouTube I would have been lost.

Not everyone knows about those resources. MOST people don’t. 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤔

Why in the world would you create such a lovely piece of kit and then make its use, assembly and maintenance a fucking mystery? I don’t get it.

Luckily I don’t have to. I learned how to use it quickly. Clearly I’m high as shit.

But a few diagrams and a quick start guide doesn’t seem too much to ask for plunking down over $300, including accessories, does it?

I didn’t think so.

I haven’t got my unit yet, but from what I read, If you want to RTL, an Honest won’t gonna cut it. I’d suggest you try to get your Blazer Firefox working and go for these times @Whiff wrote down:

If you have a smaller lower powered pocket torch that CANT get the thermal battery to click in 30-35 sec (ie. Honest single flame, Jabon single flame ) i recommend these heating times (note: you will not be able to RTL)
Dark roast/Thermal battery = 45-50 sec (great vapour production with great flav) ⭐My Fav⭐
Med roast/Center oven = 35-40 sec (good vapour production with great flav)
light roast/Top ring = 25-30 sec (less vapor production with amazing flav)

If you CAN get the thermal battery to click in 30-35 sec (ie. Blazer firefox ) i would recommend these heating times
Ride the line (RTL)/Thermal battery = 30-35 sec (great vapor production with minimal flav)
Medium roast/Center oven = 20-25 sec (Great vapor production with great flav) ⭐My Fav⭐
light roast/Top ring = 10-20 sec (Good vapour production with amazing flav).

I decided to turn my torch from the lowest setting to the highest setting today and then aimed at the copper battery for my third bowl. Avb was dark by the end, as dark as I'd ever want to vape anything lol. I usually get my vapcaps close but a little less dark than this turned out. I think I'm going to test heating the device just a little further up the vape but I'm pretty amazed at how well extracted the whole thing was when riding the line. I can't report on the high exactly because I vaped a vapcap right after the anvil bowl to see how dark that avb was to compare lol. The high from both combined like that is arguably too much for me right now... Lovely.

I think it'd be wise to write in the eventual manual something like "Turn your torch to the highest setting possible," because it seemed to do the trick for me. Maybe it's like a universal law for Anvils or something.
