Thanks for commenting. It's very common for ceramic to be alumina. The composition of ceramic can impact it's thermal properties, which is the main reason I ask.

Huzzah! Finally got this Beauty on Monday and have been giving it a few tests. Serial number : FW7DTO502
Initial impressions are that it certainly lives up to its reputation for flavour and extraction and deffo hits hard.
Set mine at 350,380,400 now and it seems to suit my preferences .
Still trying out various draw techniques but have switched from the stock mouthpiece to my MVS as stock was getting a trifle hot.., will try it with my BB9 for further analysis.
It pairs well with my TM as both offer different experiences.
Form factor is stunning, can't stop admiring it,absolutely GORGEOUS.
Definitely a keeper that I have already become very attached to especially out and about.
Congratulations Marc if the FW8 is half as good ,you have another winner on your hands.

Yep, I don't know exactly when he started including funnels (I got mine back in May/June, the first batch that he stopped selling unfinished FW7)

As my Fw7 is my daily driver, I carry it regularly, in fact it's always in my pocket loaded ready to shoot!
In any case, I've been looking for a long time for an efficient, practical and small protection (to fit in the pocket), especially not to damage it, not to dirty it (I work hands in the soil) and also not to dirty the mouthpiece (which receives all kinds of shit).
I worked with a craftswoman friend on a custom-made leather cover that even allows to use it without taking it out of its case (especially for outdoor use).
Here is the result of our work:
The closure protects the MP and the FIRE button!
The bottom is not completely closed to let the device breathe and evacuate the heat :
Also, there is a small space to take the MP out :

I am thrilled because it totally meets my expectations! I love the mix of materials (wood, glass, leather and metal) and the black color which has an exceptional rendering on the grey (not visible on the pictures unfortunately).
At the beginning (few hours), the Fw7 sweated, I was afraid it would last but in fact it stopped quite quickly. I don't know yet if the leather and the wood will work well together, I wonder if it won't get too hot if I leave it in the pouch when I use it (not in winter with the cold but in summer?)
We are working on two other models: one totally closed for complete protection and another with a removable top and bottom (to be able to use it like this one and be able to remove the flap and fill the bowl without removing the leather).
I'm interested in your opinions!

On the case with the removable top and bottom, unless removing the bottom lets you access the bottom of the stem on the side, you might want to add like a strip of metal with 2 flat pieces coming off of the side.
You’d push one of those piece in from the side under the stem before putting it in the case, then the rest of it would allow you to push the stem up from the bottom while it’s covered by the case. If you measured it right, you could put the bottom lip at the right distance to be able to push it up until it hits the bottom of the Firewood and leave the stem at the right height.
I guess it could be shaped like this, [ but it might be more stable if you could add another section up the side above the top shelf.
I hope that makes sense; good luck with it!
Oh, and you might also consider a pass-through button in the case so the real button isn’t exposed, again if removing the top won’t uncover the button already.

Sorry, I'm not sure I understood your explanation correctly....(but thank you for your interest!)
For this one, my idea is just to put another pressure button at the bottom so that when it's open, the Fw can be pushed down from the top to get it out slightly and access the bowl easily :

A stash could be an idea! for this one, I wanted the leather to stick to the skin of the FW7 for maximum portability and finesse.
I'm getting a TM stem and a stem with a 19/19 joint for my RBT devices. Might have to go back for a FW7 stem after seeing those ones. But I figure I should at least receive and test the others first.

Anymore info on the 8 ? , I missed the 7 but had a few of the previous models and it seems everyone has loved the 7 so much that I'm excited to see what the 8 brings.

Hey FC! My spidey sense seems to pretty reliably tell me when it’s time to check for a new FW, been happily VAS-free since FW7 came out. Usually sell my current FW and take a t-break when I know my turn is coming, but I covet my FW7 too much. Super curious what’s left to improve, after the cooling mouthpiece module came out, the only thing left for me is being able to load w/o managing two pieces (tho using the lid as a tamping tool is super useful). Refreshing page daily…

I emailed but never heard back. I’ve been searching high and low for 7 and it’s proven close to impossible! It’s elusive at this point. I’m glued to the exchange but I don’t know where to look. Hoping for the 8 and that it’s easier to get
