@Corvoed Maybe the wood was in the wrong place when he added the 02 and he repositioned it?

Mine doesn’t have anything oddly placed at the beginning like that, but the placement of the last 2 numbers may be very slightly off in both of ours, so I suspect he may put the rest of the serial in before they’re built and then just add the last numbers as he puts the batch together.

That’s a lot of speculation, but it seems to fit with what we see, especially with the 02 at the end of yours matching the clearly misplaced 02.

Firewood 8

Glad to hear the FW8 is on its way now! I expect it to be an improvement, so if you missed the FW7 don’t feel too bad.

…but now that we’ve helped to get Firewood so busy I’m afraid it might be hard for us to get 8s in here… :disgust:

If anyone talks to Marc, maybe see if he’d consider offering some to previous buyers and/or FC members without the website rush?

My thought exactly!

When I bought & sold on Ebay I used something called "Snipe."

I would enter the maximum amount that I wanted to bid and it would place bids up to that amount in the closing seconds of Ebay auctions. It was a very good tool, and very successful, but I often wondered if I wasn't unethical in using it.

At least it allowed me to decide exactly what I was comfortable bidding days, or even weeks before the auctions ended without getting caught up in the "emotion" of a last minute "bidding frenzy."

I tried landing a FW7 in Nov & Dec last year then pulled the plug on a TM and decided I'd wait to see what happens in the new year.

Would have liked to try the FW7 but haven't regretted the decision and will now wait and see what happens with the FW going forward.

My exact worry. I ordered the 7 early enough that there was no drama. Easily placed an order and got it a week later. Now that it's reddit's favorite vape company, I'm guessing it won't be so easy this time around.

Include me with the worry, my first thought was damn, it was so easy to get my FW7 when I did, but now it's a dramatic frenzy to grab them Sunday nights, which I don't have much of an interest in trying to do for the FW8...but I would buy one in a heartbeat if it was possible

Everybody just calm down, when the seven launched there was a wait list originally

A few months ago I got distracted taking a clean up hit on the highest default setting and combusted really badly (I didn’t notice the warmed up buzz and kept holding :uhoh:).

I’ve tried to clean it multiple times and also tried to run a bunch of bowls through it to get rid of the combustion taste, but it still persists :( does anyone have any tips on how to get it cleaned of this taste?

I’ve tried removing the screen and all of the ceramic pieces. I soaked the screen until it was visibly clean, and swabbed the ceramic with some ISO. I’ve done this process a few times since but still getting a nasty flavor on most hits. Maybe I need to keep repeating this a few times?

good luck to all of those trying to get a FW7!

edit: here are some shots of my bowl area. It's really hard to grab a good pic but hopefully you can see how dark it is

When I combusted in mine at one point (as I got the 4th heat setting on the FW5 mixed up with what 4 clicks does on the 7), first I cleaned the bowl and the other ceramic surfaces as best I could. Following this, I left the device out; disassembled, to air everything out overnight. Another last step you could try is packing the bowl and leaving it overnight to dampen the combustion flavor with fresh material. From here, honestly your best bet is to power through a few bowls. Once new, vaped resin starts to accumulate the bad taste/smell should diminish, as it did on mine.

The last few times I've used mine I've combusted almost every time. It's been sitting since I got the B1 setup running and I decided to pick it back up and just kept combusting in it. I'm using the same settings I did previously, so I'm not sure, must be my draw. I've torn it down and cleaned several times, and that combustion flavor definitely lingers, but it will clear out eventually.

Thanks! I’ll try again tonight with your tips. Any others are appreciated as well.

I assume it’s not possible to order new ceramic pieces?

i wonder if you could take the ceramic pieces and put them in a toaster oven on highest heat for a few hours or so. i do think i remember some peeps getting replacement ceramics from marc for broken pieces so im sure you could buy them as well.

Thank u! I’ll reach out to marc to see.
I’ll save toasting the ceramic as a backup plan for now.

Hey everyone!

Im still loving my FW7 after getting it many months ago and use it everyday, but had a question regarding the airflow.

I have been noticing restricted airflow on unit recently, and am not sure if this was always the case. So my question is, how open is the airflow supposed to be on a FW7?

I ask because even with a completely clean screen/unit it is still quite a pull to extract air, even when inhaling with no bud to block the screen at all. Comparing it to a Splinter the airflow is significantly more restricted.

Any tips on what I should do? Or am I just misremembering about the airflow after using it a bunch over the last several months?

It could just be the normal restriction, but if it’s all clean and still seems too restricted make sure the small glass adapter stem isn’t hitting the bottom of the ceramic while in use.

I also found that with the O’Connell Inception Stem the adapter could press right up against the thin tube inside the main stem and block airflow from reaching the outer of the stem. That is only possible with specific designs like the Inception stem, so if you just have the standard dimpled stem that wouldn’t be the issue.

Also, in case you don’t have the WPA already, it’s more open. The air intakes aren’t very large though, so it can’t be too wide open.

I got this 42-slit reverse shower head rig from dabbing warehouse on sale for like $53 shipped, it is a very nice piece except for the logos (and very wide base since it is designed for enail use) works well with many of my vapes like the FW7 now:

Fair balance of smooth diffusion and flavor retention, I also really like the narrow mouthpiece making it even more unique, watching the top fill with vapor feels like one of those bubble dice games haha so it has been fun getting into trouble!
