Herborizer corner

You can only experiment but essentially it's changing the dynamics of the system.

Which Seb tweaked and tweaked.

I accidentally placed my DigiTi heater at a low 305 C in a used Elev8r bowl.

I realised my error when fire appeared wirhin seconds inhaling.

The Ti bowl system vs rhe Elev8r facilitates extraction without combustion.

You may just need to tweak. It's adaptable. The heater is a long way off IMO.

Protruding it too far below the glass would alter the venturi effect which is a key aspect of the extraction process, mechanism and vape signature. 0.5 cm I imagine is the optimal Venturi spot.

Some have extended it further though, for more rapid cooks.

So you can only try.
I agree, it will in no way be as good, as everything from Herborizer seems to be tested and designed very specifically with the greatest result in mind

I ended up giving it a try (didn’t want to dirty the glass if I had to end up returning it, but went with it) and had great results.

No it doesn’t sit just above the herb, but I put the temp up a bit to 6.5 from my usual 5.5, and ended up finishing a bowl in two nice large hits.
This was the result:
DFFF4EC2-F4E8-449B-A22A-E210174B3B60.jpeg
Pretty satisfactory for a $15 option I found locally. No stirring, even abv, and just a first attempt.

I think prepping the first hit for a large second hit will end up being the go to if I want to maintain flavor and clouds

@Shit Snacks, Vgoodiez sold out at the moment :/.

Thanks everyone! Still loving this thing!! A new draw never gets old.

Ok so I am wondering if anyone else has had an experience like mine;

I ordered the DigiTi back in like july or whatever from Vgoodiez and like within a week I had an issue where the PID wouldn't stop heating up the vape and the alarm started going off at 1000f. I emailed Scott and he got me in contact with Sebastien who got me a replacement, and everything was great. I did have to set it higher to really get any vapor I noticed with the new unit too. I had it set to 870 to get good vapor. and I was still nowhere near combustion trust me, not sure if that was normal either. Now 3 months later I am having the same issue again, and I literally just used it last night.

When I turn it on it does not stop heating up, and will eventually get to 1000 degrees where the PID alarm starts going off. I've already emailed Seb but it doesn't look like literally anyone else here has had this issue and I genuinely don't know what could be causing it if it is user error? Kinda really regretting ever getting a DigiTi to be honest. I don't have any issues with my Analog Ti.

There is no possibility for user error. Really. I mean there is, you could throw the DigiTi at the sun.

Sometimes life chucks apparent coincidences at us and we just have to see the situation through.

The init being faulty is the only explanation. It is down to the manufacturer and retailer to highlight and resolve the issue.

Just go the line. I bet you will be 3rd time lucky. Or 3rd time unlucky.

Seb should accept the responsibiltiy of ensuring reliabity and functionality of his devices.

Hey @AJS ,

You can also try to get your load closer to the heater on the original Herbo bowl. You can place 2x S&B capsule lids on top of your screen and add a second screen on top. To avoid everythig falling when unloading, you can hold your screens with the stiring tool as shown below.
I have had good results fully vaping 0.1gr with this set up.

Hi All, I am looking for a sweet spot tweaking the Herborizer Ti. I know that by default the Ti heater should stick out 5mm from glass injector and it works great with bigger load of herb. With smaller loads the extraction is not as nice and instant so I am moving the Ti part of the heater down to approx 7 or 8mm. It works a better with smaller bowls IMHO. What’s your experience with tweaking Herbo?

You can move the heater?!

However it showed up at my house is how I've used it. I load the bowl anywhere from just a smallish layer (it's 4:20pm right now coincidentally), up to about the bottom of the side handle of the bowl. If the layer is thinner, I know I'll need a somewhat slower draw. I know if it's thicker, I can let it rip. I'll also vary my heatsoak depending on the load size. The smaller the layer of herb, the slower draw or the longer heat soak.

By unscrewing the little allen bolt with the provided tool, you can move the diffuser part , the heater itself is only the central post that goes through the diffuser.
I know other vaporists who use their Herbos with the diffuser lowered to reduce the distance between heat and herb. I use it as it came , with the central post protuding just few mm from the diffuser.
I once asked the creator of the vape if doing this was ok for the vape callibration. I leave here his answer for all of you:

QUOTE
Bonjour,
Do not change the position of the diffuser, it is placed optiomally.
The cef is only used to tighten the small screw, if it ever loosened over time.
UNQUOTE

No luck on the reasons why we shouldn´t move the duffuser, although I asked..
I have tried to use it this way but always end placing it back as it came.

Hi

Interesting as I have never thought about moving the placement of the nail relative to the bowl and material. I vary heat with different load amounts a bit. I don't really find much difference in extraction whether it is a small or larger load. I'll pay more attention next time though.

I think the Ti and digiTi perform a little bit differently. I just received a new digiTi. When I draw, the digital scale drops about 20 degree F - I have it set at 710 and my draws usually end around 685. Now with the Ti, I set it around 6 plus or minus how I'm feeling and when I draw, it feels like more consistent heat.

I wonder what algorithm is in the digital version for when the temp drops - I wonder if increases watts to try and maintain temperature. I've noticed that the digiTi recovers to about 715 before settling back to 710.

So much affects the performance such as grind, fill amount, heat, draw speed, etc. It's really interesting reading about how everyone is using the device. It's an amazing vape!!

U can set ur own P,I,D, but i won't recommend.

@Shadooz - LOL. Long time ago I did quite a bit of math for my graduate degrees but I'd have to do some refresher work to get back up to speed. Since I didn't know what PID stood for I figured that would be the first step:

Indeed PID is a type of control loop (cool). I love learning. I think I'll leave the math to the creator or whoever is making the PID controller. Mostly I was curious not about the specific algorithm used in the controller but just about the drop in temp during a draw and the recovery.

Always good to learn a new thing every day. Thanks.

Pretty common for these controllers to be programmed for a bit of overshoot when coming back to temp, then settling into desired temp, where PIDs hold steady pretty easily in the absence of draws or other things that suck away heat.

Can anyone tell me the size of the screens used in the Herborizer bowl? Are they a standard size or nah?

17mm, but i cut my second "thin mesh" myself, not even right :freak:. The three notch may allow 18mm, maybe 19mm, with the 18mm bowl. Making a bowl like shape like the standard one do with the 14mm bowl.

The lack of reactivity is only mostly visual, numerical.
Heavy titanium have their own thermal capacity.

But yes it can be tweak, like a racing car.
A PID algorythm isn't the best for reactivity. A basic "full throttle triggering threshold algorithm" would be way more reactive for our purpose. (Heavy titanium)
The proportional Linear P is useless, must be put at the highest. We don't care of bit of overshoot..
The I and D are mostly useless for us. Put them lower, it will sound like an Harley Davidson   (visual oscilating PID).

But again i won't recommend.
The TI, without increased power injection, run already like a champ for back to back.

As decreed and declared by Sebastien, the sweet spot of the system as a whole, the design allowing it's unique own venturi air swirl effect, which is really the actionnwhich gives the Ti is special signature of such smooth gentle vapor, with ability to empty the herb at low or gigh temperatures depending on rate.

i can enjoy say, 6 nice hits from 0.3, at 335-350.

turn to 400. Nothing.

just takes longer on the lower temps.

But the venturi principle is real, applies directly to medicinal phyto inhalation of plant compounds vis vaporization.

So if you want to discover "optimum", it depends what you refer to as optimum.

because Seb estanlished, 0.5 cm is the optimum, for the fullest venturi action in distance and line from the air intakes and airflow dynamic.

But you can tweak it. Roast a smaller load dark, quick.

do report back too please @Heddgyhoggy , you are the pioneer, like us all.

Raising the screen resting atop dinks, has been done too with positive report.

Hmm, maybe I should try that. It drives me crazy that the default position leaves gaps along the edge that tiny pieces of herb fall through!

I did manage to acquire a herborizer TI in the end...
I have been using it since christmas day and yeah wow what an amazing piece of apparatus.

It's not something I will let other people use as its incredibly delicate and potentially hazardous in the wrong hands.
It is however hands down the best desktop I have owned.
It just obliterates dry herb with unreal flavor and a very non restrictive draw speed.

I had a cloud evo prior to this; I was questionable about whether or not the TI was much of an upgrade but instantly after a few bowls I knew that the TI was way better suited to my needs.
The TI seems to vape the material to spent very quickly which is ideal for me as It can be frustrating with other vapes to get those last hits quickly.

Yeah out of this world surprised with the power of this vape. Its so simplistic but yet almost futuristic in the way it abolishes green into ABV very efficiently and quickly.

Breaking some of the glass is inevitable so my next buys will be to stock up on back up glass for this beautiful machinery.
If anyone in EU has any good links let me know

Thanks again to all those who i spoke to previously on this thread, a great recommendation from everyone here!

Don't get what u mean by that, if u can't wait one week till third of january, u may have high compulsive shopping disorder..

And there is other site to get it.

I only meant that I read the dates wrong lol! When I saw the date 03/01/2022 I thought it was March 01. I completely forgot that the states has its own weird way of writing dates compared to the rest of the world. We are taught both ways as kids but I am so used to reading dates as month, day, year that it didn’t occur to me that the real date was January 3. Anyways thanks for pointing out my mistake. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get parts for my favorite vape

Hey guys! I searched the threads and believe the answer is yes, but didn’t see much talk about it, and would like to be absolutely sure before proceeding.

I have a regular analogue Ti. Can I use a power adapter with a readout instead of the stock one?

Would love to have something like this to have exact numbers.
I use this with my Woodscents.

Yes - these are the ones I use
I use these 2 buck boost step down things with a switchable laptop power supplies (9-24v 5A) to power my Herbo and some of my DiY efforts
ZK-J5X http://www.icstation.com/step-down-...able-buck-converter-cvcc-adapter-p-13408.html
DPS3005 https://uk.banggood.com/RIDEN-DPS30...Meter-Ammeter-p-1062474.html?cur_warehouse=CN
The second one should fit nicely in an REFC labs ATM module .....

I think he uses this one (dsp5005)

I've also got an XYS3580 which was a little cheaper and works ok but it's got a fan on the back that bugs me so it's just a spare to be honest

I did the same thing lol. I'm in Canada where we use both date formats though I think it should be one or the other.

Dates are EU format!! Month and day are switched compared to NA.

I keep trying different vapes but since getting the Herbo Ti - I just haven't found anything I like better. Six to seven months of daily use and today was just as sweet as the first!!

Bought a digiTi but some weird issue with the cord or post of the PID plugin. Auber is looking at it. Honestly, both are great and not sure the digital adds anything.

Always fun to post cool things about this vape. I love the discussion and dude the video is amazing!
