Someone on the IQC thread compared the air flow to having one hole open on the IQ2.
Can you post a pic of the blackened oven?
if it’s just a darkened spot and there is no other differences in taste or temp, it’s probably nothing more than typical wear.

I have an IQC. The airflow is the same as 1 notch open on the IQ2 airflow dial as far as I can tell.

Its a spot in the oven not the entire oven, will add pic later.
Wish it would have been 2 air holes, my hope is now they might add the upgrades to a revision of the IQ2.
I hope they do an IQ2 in that dark green, fan of that color also like the new blue. Glass oven would be nice to see in IQ2 if it doesnt affect performance.
If you registered your device, you can talk with support directly and show them the black mark. It may fall under the conditions for an RMA under the warranty if it is not related to burned material that has become difficult to clean.
As far as the 1-4 holes question, most have compared it to the second notch from closed on the IQ2 Air Dial. I would say it is less restricted than the original IQ as well.
Appreciate the feedback on air holes and color. Per the "glass oven", glass would most definitely affect the performance as it dissipates heat far faster than ceramic. Meaning that it would take a serious amount of energy to maintain temperatures at a consistent level for even heating. Similar can be said for quartz. Its why you see a lot of quartz used in concentrates. fast quick heat ups is about all you can expect but not the best for a conduction vaporizer that provides long sessions.

With IQ1 I “regulated” resistance with tightness of the packing so suppose it would be possible with IQC too. However, it didn’t work with spacers.
Completely understandable and love the feedback! I think we could explore how to create some variable options in this one, especially because many share the same thoughts on the restriction.wish it would have been no holes

The spacers do not allow a lot of variances there. We have found that others share using the 10mm adapter as a mouthpiece works well for them to increase the air flow. Have you tried this in the Original IQ with the spacers?Not alone, me too

My be-all, end-all IQ2 review!
Hey guys. I received my IQ2 in the mail about a month ago and decided to hold off until now to review it as I wanted fully “live” with it and then give my opinions and such. Its also worth noting that I’ve had the original IQ for about 4 years, so coming to the IQ2 I was really skeptical to see how many improvements it could have over the original. Also, to anyone thinking I’m a shill or whatever, while I can’t prove I’m not, I don’t think a shill would curse in a review. Plus, simple fact is people tend to be more vocal about complains instead of praises these days, so anytime someone praises a product online people get suspicious. Can’t blame ya. You’ll just have to take my word for it. Anyways, back to the review.
My first impressions after unboxing it was that it really felt like a PREMIUM device. Everything from the heft, the built quality, the brushed aluminum and even the hinges made it feel far superior compared to the IQ1. I even found myself just opening and closing the bottom hinge because it had such a satisfying, muted *snap* to it. Ive read some people having issues with the hinges ‘warping’ but thankfully I haven’t had any such issues so far. Oh and that PURPLE finish though. It’s just so damn sexy!
Now on to using it
The first thing I did was pop some herb into the ceramic dosage pod it came with as I heard using it helped keep the oven clean. I was a bit skeptical as to how it would actually perform, having used the IQ1 with a glass spacer. But I was pleasantly surprised to see that I managed to get amazing flavor, with nice clouds, just out of .2 grams. I also had a few “full” bowls without any spacers/pods and it was the same thing. I found that using the dial on the ‘one hole’ setting worked best for me in terms of draw resistance and cloud production. As for how hot the actual device gets, yeah, it still gets warm to the touch, but no where near as hot as the IQ1. End of the day though, you’re holding a literal oven, it’s bound to get warm. I got a glove and that pretty much solved the problem.
I do see some people complain that they either don’t get vapor at all, or the herb just gets ‘burnt’ without them feeling any effects. As far as I can tell, it really just depends on the herb you’re using, and how you pack it. If you have shitty, leafy, brick weed, yeah, you’re not gonna get much even if you smoke it. But even if you do, just make sure you pack it firmly. I personally find the best herbs to use are the denser, nuggier, strains. If you’ve got some of that light and fluffy you may have to pack in a bit more. Also forgot to mention I never use a grinder, I just pinch small pieces off and pack em and it works great for me.
Quick side note, I’ve also been blessed enough to compare my IQ2 to my friends’ PAX3, Mighty, and Solo Arizer 2 and ya’ll, I’m so happy I got my IQ2. Of course I will be biased, but the PAX3 just seems like such a pain to use. It has that stupid proprietary magnetic charger, no replaceable batteries, and requires an app to change the settings. I can admit the Mighty does perform better compared to my IQ2 in terms of cloud production, especially if you’re outside on a windy day. But it’s HIDEOUS and HUGE. Hard pass for me. The Arizer was actually quite nice too with clouds and flavor, but again, its just too big for my liking. I love that I can easily swap out my batteries and even charge my IQ2 while I use it incase I don’t have a spare battery. Plus, again, it looks sexy AF.
****Before**** I get into the actual cleaning, let me tell you my current ‘vapor path’ set up that I believe helps keep the entire device even cleaner. So starting from the oven, I put a screen on top of the oven holes, then the dosage pod on top. Even though the dosage pod helps keep the oven cleaner, you can still get little particles that fall through the oven holes, so the screen helps prevent that. THEN I put another smaller screen at the bottom of the actual flavor chamber. I found that putting a screen there helps stop residue and oils building up through the entire chamber, and keeps it mostly ‘localized’ near the screen.
Now onto the cleaning.
So the most common complaint of the IQ1 was the cleaning process, and the infamous ‘satans anus’, the area between the flavor chamber and the oven. It was always such a chore taking cotton swab after cotton swab with isopropyl to clean it. It usually just felt like it would never fully clean at all and I’d just give up. WELL. I am very happy to announce that the anus is NO LONGER A PAIN IN THE.. ass. Keep in mind that I’m not a heavy user, I usually have 1-2 pods a day, maybe 3 if its a weekend. So mileage may vary with how often you have to clean it. So what I did to test how easy it was to clean was use it for 2 weeks without cleaning, twice, to see how much resin and gunk would build up. Now obviously if you clean it daily, you probably won’t ever have to worry about resin and stuff, but I don’t have time like that.
CLEANING IS NOW A BREEEEEZE. It now takes 5 minutes instead of 20-30 minutes with my IQ1. First thing I do is remove the flavor chamber, pop out the screen with the residue build up, and either soak it in isopropyl, or just burn it off with a lighter. Then I tear a small section of paper towel, dip it in some isopropyl, roll it up and slowly ‘turn’ it into the flavor chamber til it reaches the bottom and wipes off the remaining residue. I also wipe off the bit of residue build up under the flavor chamber lid, and underneath the actual flavor chamber, on the outside, where it sits on top of the now-deceased satans anus (rest in..hell: 2016-2019). Then I wipe the entire oven with isopropyl even though its already pretty much spotless, and wipe the extended mouth piece.
NOW WHAT YOU GUYS HAVE PROBABLY BEEN SCANNING THESE PARAGRAPHS FOR. THE ANUS. Like I said, I’m used to going through maybe 10-15 iso-dipped swabs on the IQ1, and it still stays filthy. So both times I cleaned the anus on the IQ2, I grabbed a swab, stuck it in, gave it a twirl, took it out, and to my AMAZEMENT it was CLEAN! Confused, I tried again thinking I probably didn’t do it properly, and again, it came out CLEAN. THERE YOU HAVE IT. No more satans anus! Like some of you, this was the main thing I was scouring the forums for while I still had my IQ1 (I even posted on this forum a year ago or so asking about it), and no one seemed to have a properly formed opinion on the anus even after almost 2 years. But I can confidently tell you it just doesn’t need to be cleaned… IF you use my set up, with the screens and dosage pods.
So one more thing I wanted to touch on was the customer service. There have been a lot of complaints with Davinci’s CS saying they either don’t reply, take ages to reply, take ages to do an RMA, etc. I’ve been in contact with them for RMA’s twice, and both times were amazing (shout outs to Ashley!)
I can’t speak on their customer service from 2016-2019, but if you’re still having issues with their CS, its probably ‘cause you’re just a shitty person (sorry not sorry) to any CS in general and forget that they are people and not robots . Yes, you are the customer, and they must fulfill your warranties, but if you’re communicating with the CS with anger and a stink attitude instead of patience and empathy, you might just have to wait longer. I get that you’re paying a premium and expect your device to work but even billion dollar companies like Apple and Samsung are prone to selling duds.
On that note, people say Davinci is like the Apple of vapes and I can see that. But they’re actually better because they LISTEN to their customers and actively address and fix their complaints. As much as I love Apple, sometimes they just do annoying things with their proprietary connectors and repairability. While Davinci actually sells you a product that seems like it can last the 10 years it’s under warranty for. The simple fact that you get to replace your batteries is a huge plus on its own. All in all I’m very pleased with my IQ2
Davinci have won me over as a loyal customer for life 
The only improvement for the IQ3 I can ask for is USB-C! I really can't think of anything else. Maaaaybe remove the rubber gasket beneath the flavor chamber and replace it with something else as I feel it might still 'absorb' the smell of vapor over time and slightly alter the taste. But the fact that the rubber was clean when I wiped it is a good sign. Also, yaaaay we finally got the app back lol.
Anyways I hope this long ass review answered most, if not all, of your questions and curiosities about the IQ2. If not, feel free to ask me any questions

First thing I do is remove the flavor chamber, pop out the screen with the residue build up, and either soak it in isopropyl, or just burn it off with a lighter. Then I tear a small section of paper towel, dip it in some isopropyl, roll it up and slowly ‘turn’ it into the flavor chamber til it reaches the bottom and wipes off the remaining residue. I also wipe off the bit of residue build up under the flavor chamber lid, and underneath the actual flavor chamber, on the outside, where it sits on top of the now-deceased satans anus (rest in..hell: 2016-2019). Then I wipe the entire oven with isopropyl even though its already pretty much spotless, and wipe the extended mouth piece.
NOW WHAT YOU GUYS HAVE PROBABLY BEEN SCANNING THESE PARAGRAPHS FOR. THE ANUS. Like I said, I’m used to going through maybe 10-15 iso-dipped swabs on the IQ1, and it still stays filthy. So both times I cleaned the anus on the IQ2, I grabbed a swab, stuck it in, gave it a twirl, took it out, and to my AMAZEMENT it was CLEAN! Confused, I tried again thinking I probably didn’t do it properly, and again, it came out CLEAN. THERE YOU HAVE IT. No more satans anus! Like some of you, this was the main thing I was scouring the forums for while I still had my IQ1 (I even posted on this forum a year ago or so asking about it), and no one seemed to have a properly formed opinion on the anus even after almost 2 years. But I can confidently tell you it just doesn’t need to be cleaned… IF you use my set up, with the screens and dosage pods.
So one more thing I wanted to touch on was the customer service. There have been a lot of complaints with Davinci’s CS saying they either don’t reply, take ages to reply, take ages to do an RMA, etc. I’ve been in contact with them for RMA’s twice, and both times were amazing (shout outs to Ashley!)
I can’t speak on their customer service from 2016-2019, but if you’re still having issues with their CS, its probably ‘cause you’re just a shitty person (sorry not sorry) to any CS in general and forget that they are people and not robots . Yes, you are the customer, and they must fulfill your warranties, but if you’re communicating with the CS with anger and a stink attitude instead of patience and empathy, you might just have to wait longer. I get that you’re paying a premium and expect your device to work but even billion dollar companies like Apple and Samsung are prone to selling duds.
On that note, people say Davinci is like the Apple of vapes and I can see that. But they’re actually better because they LISTEN to their customers and actively address and fix their complaints. As much as I love Apple, sometimes they just do annoying things with their proprietary connectors and repairability. While Davinci actually sells you a product that seems like it can last the 10 years it’s under warranty for. The simple fact that you get to replace your batteries is a huge plus on its own. All in all I’m very pleased with my IQ2
The only improvement for the IQ3 I can ask for is USB-C! I really can't think of anything else. Maaaaybe remove the rubber gasket beneath the flavor chamber and replace it with something else as I feel it might still 'absorb' the smell of vapor over time and slightly alter the taste. But the fact that the rubber was clean when I wiped it is a good sign. Also, yaaaay we finally got the app back lol.

My own experience with DaVinci's customer service has been stellar (mIQro) and is part of the reason I'm gathering funds to get an IQC (another being the pod system).
I really rated the flavour from my mIQro highly, the chamber and air path material really make a huge difference to flavour, and DV chose well here.
I wonder how the flavour compares between the ceramic and steel pods?
Anyone in this thread had a chance to compare them?
I like the idea of the ceramic pods the most, but the slightly more secure lids of the SS also appeals.

Lucky for you I've actually got both types of pods lol. To be honest I can't tell much of a difference between the 2 in terms of flavor. I've tried back to back bowls with the same strains in both pods and just couldn't see much difference. Had to do some research and it seems ceramic can maintain temperatures for longer, but it heats up slower. While the SS one heats up quicker but doesn't burn as evenly or taste as good as ceramic. The SS is definitely way easier to clean though as the ceramic gets stained easily, and the lid stays on more securely since its threaded on. But for some reason I keep coming back to the ceramic as I like the novelty of it. Just sounds fancier than SS plus pizza shops apparently prefer ceramic pans too as they don't affect the flavor at all. Lol.

I plan to use a dunk & soak in PBW for cleaning, or failing that, ISO, so I imagine there's no clear advantage there for me either way between SS or steel pods.
The more secure lid of the SS appeals, but it did occur to me that the ceramic lids are probably not critical anyway. If the ceramic pod was used without a lid the air is still being pulled through from the open end of the pod so the herb will likely stay in place anyway?
I don't really mind the slower heat up (unless it turns out to be significant, which I doubt is likely?) as I'm in the market for a bit more of a session vape this time.
I confess though, I'm still a little unclear whether you feel there's a noticable diff' in taste though:
"I can't tell much of a difference" but also "doesn't burn as easily or taste as good as ceramic." perhaps the diff' is small enough that it can be ignored?
Either way I think I'll sell the mIQro before I use it, it's a great little vape, but I like the idea of a battery that'll last me all day, and the pods of course. I kinda wish DV had made one of the IQC colours the 'rust' like my mIQro, but I can understand why they'd go for all-new colours. Still trying to decide between the red and green

Good point about the lids. Tbh the only reason I keep the lid is because I like to flip the pod over half way during my session, and I need the lid to grab it with the pick tool. Haven't tried it without a lid but might not make much of a difference other than make it more difficult to remove the pod with the pick tool as it gets too hot to touch. And what I meant was, apparently ceramic tastes better than SS, according to some websites I visited. Hence why Davinci used ceramic for their actual oven instead of SS, and why pizza makers use ceramic too. Never had any luck with the ceramic pods. The author of this latest review states a .2 load, that must be a very fine grind, I was not able to fit that amount with my fine BCG grind. I like my IQ2 in its stock version, no additional screens, but I tend to clean it after I use it, as it may be sit out a rotation as I switch my devices often, then it’s ready and clean the next time I grab it. Unfortunately, unlike this review, my DAVINCI customer service experience has NOT been good.

Re' the load size; my tolerance is so comically low (due to extended herb droughts) that even a full mIQro is far too much without dilution with CBD herb, or trying to nurse the session into overtime. That's actually part of the appeal of the pods for me, easier microdosing. I find a partially loaded mIQro bowl doesn't produce good clouds until you reach about half full, which I hope to be roughly equal to a ceramic pod load?
To be honest, even smaller than that would be fine for me, I expect they're probably bigger than half a mIQro bowl though.
I expect that a couple of pods, one in the chamber, and perhaps even a small nug in the flavour chamber, would be enough to get me through a long day, even if I share with another featherweight!
Do you think a single battery would git 'er done?

. Yeah I think I'll go for ceramic, as they'll be plenty big enough, and the great flavour I got from the mIQro should be unaffected by the addition of the pod.

What a great review @banqueesha ! Thank you. I use the ceramic pods exclusively and have never had an issue. I just pack them really tight and make sure the pearl is screwed down enough so that I don't hear the pod rattling.

I just swapped those out after 6 months and after 2 weeks they are still white and clean. At first I thought it was the strains I was using but I've tried a bunch. I do one pod a day and my IQ2 stays pretty clean, but I do give it a full clean once a week.

Being the owner of both set of pods, I do favor the SS mainly because of the lid which stays closed. I don't see any difference in performance. I do have a question, do you guys do multiple sessions with the same pod/bowl? For example, do you have a session then come back later to that pod/bowl but either keep the same temp or raise the temp? Reason ask is because after 1 session for me, I do not desire the bowl again but desire reloading? Any thoughts?

What do you mean by you swapped your set out? Did you buy the 6 pack of ceramics and they stayed cleaner than the original one you had? I think ceramic is supposed to get dirty anyways as the same thing happened when I used my IQ1 with the bare oven which is also ceramic. Over time it just builds up these brownish stains that I can only get rid of with magic eraser + some isopropyl. I have a max of 2 sessions per pod that I use. So I usually start out between 410-420 for the first session, then I'll just switch it back on and go straight to 430 which usually lasts another few minutes until it just stops producing vapor. Sometimes though if I don't want to get too medicated I'll just have my first 8 minute session during the day, then later on at night I'll reuse the same pod at 430.

@banqueesha Yes, I bought a set of the the 6 pods when I purchased an IQ2. And I’ve bought anther sets since then and this newer set has stayed clean and white for awhile now.
I use 1 pod a day, which gives me 5 sessions of 2-3 hits each.

Got my set long ago, very rough/porous ceramic, stays a bit dirty. I do use the little silicone holders for other tiny items.

They all look the same to me. Very shiny on the outside maybe a very light glaze on the inside. My first set, the outside got as dirty as the inside and iso only cleans them so much.
