Herb Grinders

Hi vapers
I’m in France and all I could say is I ordered a bcg a little more than one year ago and this thing is the easiest to operate , no matter how big or moist the nugs are 👍, after the first turn it’s really easy to grind and the threadless is a big thing.
The only other threadless one I know is the pucc grinder (unfortunately I’ve no experience with this one but I’m sure others can give advice on it) made in the usa but cheaper than bcg so @purepotstill it’s worth to take a look, sorry but I’m not aware of a threadless grinder made in eu 😩
Hope that helps, have a great day.
Ps : it’s near 4/20 , on this pandemic time, it’s worth to do a gift to yourself imo.😜

Hi @purepotstill

When I looked for a new real grinder like you a few months ago, I was really hesitating between BCG and herb ripper!
finally I chose the stainless steel herb ripper ... and I absolutely do not regret my choice !!!
heavy, machine washable, no aluminum, easily grind large quantities, beautiful ... coarse threading so a turn and a half and the tank is open ... strong magnets ...
I took the 3 piece version so I can't talk about the screen.
since then, he has added additional rooms for storage ...
I will surely buy some ...

but if the bcg comes out in stainless steel, I will take one !!

I did not find the herb ripper in Europe but it is in the UK ...

good research!
Thanks, but is it threadless ? Seems not, could you confirm ? And it's even more expensive than the BCG (because it's SS I suppose). I imagine you bought it before Brexit so you didn't have additional fees to pay.

Which shipping option did you choose ? And did you have VAT and customs to pay or did you pass through ?

Oh man, after checking my grinderforlife account that’s 2 years ago I ordered mine (during 2019 4/20 I guess) , no vat or customs for me 🤫
Here is a pic of my order (2 years ago so things could have changed)

No no, just the price, without taxe !
It took a little bit time to arrive but it arrived 😁

I know I am missing stuff here, I just need to point out again what makes the BCG so special is the side teeth in the lid that prevent it from ever locking up, the Pucc seems like a nice budget option for no threading, but that is far from the best feature imo (quarter threading is really not difficult to work with at all, like with my FM, also to be fair the UMG also has no threading and uses magnets btw but more expensive) Did you check out the Klip??

You found it with the coarse plate ? Really hesitating, found it in the EU, but with their medium/fine plate. Think I'd prefer the coarse, but not sure...

Edit @Shit Snacks : you lost me mate. Klip I can search but FM ? UMG ? My wife often tells me "U're My God", but not sure it's the same here :whip:

Have to say I'm now looking at the Herb Ripper. Stainless Steel has its assets over aluminum.

Haha sorry my dude!

UMG = United Machining Grinder, it is stainless steel and threadless!

FM = Flower Mill, they have the premium steel version with swappable plates, or standard aluminum version with one fixed plate (on sale now for 420) and it is a completely different type of grinder though.

Hoj Klip was posted in here, I'd recommend just skimming through the past several pages of this thread, it is similar to the Lift Innovations grinder with chopping blades, however it is made in Europe and I believe it uses magnetic connections as well...

Yeah there is appeal to steel, however I will let you know that BCG is working on a steel version apparently (between the two currently available sizes)

Vous l'avez trouvé avec la plaque grossière? Vraiment hésitant, je l'ai trouvé dans l'UE, mais avec leur assiette moyenne / fine. Je pense que je préfère le grossier, mais pas sûr ...

I ordered it from the official website directly ... there was everything.
I thought I wanted a coarse plate ... and I really like the rendering ... but finally in some of my vapes, a fine grind suits me better ... for now, I grind backwards!

Ah, sounds really interesting ! May wait a bit before pulling the trigger...

Ah, ok ! It's no problem grinding upside down ? You get the grind you want ?

Yeah I like to grind upside down to get more fine consistent grinds, regardless of whatever plate, so one plate can be quite versatile! Grinding upside down can dirty up your grinder quicker though by the way

I just ordered a reject.

Nice! Looking forward to your thoughts on it

Seems that only black is available, and it $85 vs $105 for a non-reject (out of stock), but was there any additional 420 discount??

It is a bit tempting (everybody shut up about me maybe buying another grinder) though I think I much prefer the silver color and now I notice the graphics that other member mentioned, it comes stamped with reject on the front?? That doesn't look too nice to me... Though I can appreciate a good deal!!

However, speaking of pretty things, seeing their stainless steel version, I don't know how I could possibly get anything else, although I would want it to be a 3 piece:

I see where I will be stocking up for my patients!!
After writing check for Car insurance, and a budgeted Supermarket trip, I took remaining funds, and I jumped on this deal.
I grabbed 3, but I will be back to get more at next opportunity.
I appreciate that you posted this @RustyOldNail !

So finally pulled the trigger for a 3 pieces Herb Ripper XL with coarse plate. After reading a bit, I came to the conclusion coarse plates are the most versatile because you can always get a finer grind by using it upside down. Should be the same as yours @Touf2n1, or maybe have you a 4p ?

Now, just have to wait for a steel BCG to be on the market :D

After using the HR, IMO, youll have NO NEED for the BCG ! Unless you just like spending money or have Grinder VAS, LOL !!!
Best $100 Ive ever spent on Cannabis paraphernalia !
The HR seems to Shred the material Without Crushing the Trichome heads. Was amazed when looking at ground material with a 10X Loupe, to see Whole Trichomes !

ah, I'm happy!
I'm sure you'll like it 😁
I think the Herb ripper should have as much visibility as the BCG ... it really is a gorgeous piece that does a great job!
I also took the 3-piece version, but not in xl ... I prefer to grind a little less but that it remains fresher ...
(I took a Zam grinder when they came out, but I only use it on weekends / travel I think!

@Okla68
I totally agree !
(but unfortunately for me, I really understand the interest in a stainless steel BCG ...

long life to the herb ripper! 😁

I don't grind a lot, but the larger the easier to grind.
