The rimmed screens are custom made by the maker of the extra long stem and are not available anywhere else unfortunately... Everybody gets one! I tried to ask for more

You’re kidding me! There’s no where else to buy these rounded screens without any trim? I noticed my basket screens from my stempod that I found on Amazon fit perfectly & I bought a bunch off them but I was trying to get the ones without any rim, just all screen.

I wonder if these will work...I may take the gamble unless the seller of the glass stem sells then himself cheaper somewhere?

1/2 Inch Pipe Screens - Stainless Steel Wire Mesh Preformed Concave Bowls 30 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08D788Y3Z/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_MQ06QZ6B8WJFF283MR99

Okay I am confused, could have sworn you were asking about the rimmed basket screen that comes with the extra long stem... That one is custom made to have a narrower rim than all the other rimmed basket screens available, those ones get stuck in the TM pulled out of the stem when you remove it, so yeah we just get one with the extra long stem and that's it...

For rimless basket screens, they do sell spares of those direct from TM (that's what I was given instead of spare rimmed screens when I asked) and there have been many alternative options posted here, even recently, you can search or skim back through, I posted the ones from mistvape that work in the stock TM stems recently as well...

More than $1 a piece for screens seems a little much, but whatever the market will bare. As long as they last I guess.

I have no better suggestions. I am glad I have backups from previous purchases.
I have lots of rimmed screens and they are widely available (like Amazon or Ebay) but they don't work well in this application. I suppose if I ran out of rimless ones I could try cutting off the rim with a tin snips or something.

Has anyone tried using a dremel or something to reduce the outside diameter of the rims? Did they fall apart?

There is someone here who used to dremel on the regular rimmed basket screens, making them narrower so they fit fine in their stems. Definitely possible, though not for many of us! You and I are lucky we have so many old RBT rimless screens ;)

I seem to be having problems, held down the button during on-demand mode and it never vibrated but I heard a weird noise and realized the heater was on. Hit it but it combusted.

Afterward it won't work right and seems to be a burn mark near the heater. Did I accidentally push the screen down too fair while putting the stem in?

I have a sneaking suspicion this is my fault lol

edit: definitely had to be this lol the screen was pushed too far in and I guess made contact with the heater for anyone else who may make the same dumb move lol

need a replacement screen any suggestions?

Oh man dude that sucks, hopefully it is still working okay though? Could have shorted out the heater!

One suggestion to help prevent this in the future, is to flip the metal ring that holds the screen, that will put the rim in a more protective position for the heater, holding the heater screen more stable making it so the stem cannot go through either (but yes when inserting stems always do so carefully so you can feel the stopping point) I did this little mod on my second TM not that I ever had any issues with the original setup myself...

Been there done that once - my screen got pushed onto the heater and bloody combustion. Had to toss the screen. I had to cut one to fit as I didn’t have any and it’s held up for months but needs replacing. I recently ordered .75” stainless screens (19.something mm - I can’t recall) which should arrive in a week or two. I measured with a ruler and think it’s the right size. Fingers crossed. If they fit maybe, just maybe, I’ll get up the courage to re-attempt the @dzoinp heater screen mode. I’ll be doing a sanding of my TM soon so the whole thing is coming apart for that anyway. :peace:
i found out that the flowerpot shovelhead screens are almost the perfect size
The USA titanium ones are a finer mesh so I'm thinking about ordering some of those since i only have one USA made titanium and that's not leaving the flower pot lol

Im going to give it a try in the next few minutes, if I messed this thing up that fast ill have to laugh lol. I will give that method a try too, I didn't realize how easy it was for me to push the screen.

edit:
Seems like the vibration may not be working when I press the button to let me know when heater is ready, it vibrates when I turn it on tho, seems to still produce heat so idk but makes a tiny buzzing noise @Shit Snacks

Yes they fall apart !
You cannot use the dremel all the way around ... leave three points without wear so that the ring does not separate

You have probably done this already, but be sure to take the battery out (or just unscrew the cap) and put it back to reset the device.

Another reason I bought a backup. I suspect some blasted night I am gonna do this... :uhoh:

Hmm if it is vibrating when you turn it on, then the haptics must be working? Question is if the temperature regulation is working, if you set it to like level three, it should heat up fairly quickly, so if it is not giving you that ready vibration it could be because it is not actually ready and there is a problem now with the heater (perhaps resistance temp control calculations due to short of something) so I would reach out to TM in that case... Sorry, hopefully you can figure things out and get it working normally, maybe it is fine, but it may need service unfortunately... Good luck!

Funny, but someone here was about to disassemble their unit because the background buzzing had stopped.

Cool. And the screen doesn't get pulled off when you pull it out? (they say pulling it out never works...) ;)

Yeah I pissed on the rug...... so what

If you're talking about me? It didn't stop it just got very quiet but everyother way it was normally functioning. I didn't have to disassemble I'm happy to report Tao Tao is singing loud and proud again as of last night, all on his own no less LoL

Yea i took it out, i cant wait to see if the Molicel P264s works better than the LG battery I have

Im going to keep playing with it over the next few days to see, I emailed TM so ill see if they think it needs to be sent back, if so ill buy another vape to take its spot while its gone.

lol idk if the buzzing is supposed to exist or not, I only noticed it today

speaking of which i the vibration is fully working again for whatever reason, I turned the temp down like Snacky said so it can reach temp faster and its been working normal idk lmao

Haha cool yeah, I thought that maybe if you had the temp setting too high, it would be taking awhile to reach that temp and vibrate, so yeah maybe that was throwing you off especially with a more discharged battery...

idk i keep charging this thing so I don't even know what its low battery behavior was like, I think the vibration originally stopped because of the screen touching the heater, I was paranoid during these first few uses after I fixed it didn't know if i would die or get high lmao

Haha yes yes I know this experience well from my past with other vapes, this one is still so new for you! Yeah when I am at only two vibrations battery level, sometimes it can take a little longer to heat up to temp, particularly at the upper settings I think.

I used the metal file of my leatherman to do do on 2 rbt basket screens i have and it did the trick. Basket screen pinched between thumb and pointer finger rubbing on the file. It took me about 5 minutes each (they didn't need to be filed a lot).

I used to always switch mine out then, but with the Mollicell P26A I can get all the way to dead without any performance troubles!

im just getting ready to take this on hikes or long walks or even other peoples houses, I don't really need the battery swap besides that. I been hearing that those p26a are better than the LG that comes with the TM, cant wait for mines to get here tomorrow

Yeah that has been my experience, my first TM actually came with Sony VTC6, my second came with Samsung 30Q (haven't even charged that one up yet, because I didn't like the performance of my other 30Q in my old TM) I had been using a brown LG HG2 in rotation with the Sony before I got these Mollicell, but now I am only using both of those in my FW7 mainly and stick with the Mollicell in my TM (I only have two, used in rotation, used in TP80 and Milaana a bit too)

I know I know, and I feel bad neglecting so many of them, over the past year+ since I've had tinymight in my life! It is too good lol

^Edit: just enjoyed some whole nugs with my TM using the multi-wpa screenless through my OGB sidecar jhook... temp stepping, one careful flip midway... So on the far right is a whole nug I had vaped one hit on each side before crushing up to vape in regular rbt wpa and basket screen next. Then in the middle are the smaller nugs, hand torn and packed down a bit with the tool on the left next to the fresh nugs of this apple fritter bud. The RogueWaxWorks tool on top was used to carefully remove nugs from the stem for the flipping, also when I did so with the smaller nugs I did add a few more fresh on top... will probably break them up to get another hit or two with a screen too... Full Spectrum Yum!

I wonder if little Tao Tao had something stuck in his throat? I understood the buzz was the coil physically vibrating. If some dust were to get through the screen maybe it could dampen the vibration. Then maybe work itself loose again? Cough, cough, hummmmmm.
Otherwise I might be scared your screen shifted and was affecting heater, but that would have shorted, or combusted wouldn't it?

Just received the 18mm adapter direct from Tinymight and big disappointment : it won't fit in. It's bigger than the metal ring tightening the o-ring. Could use the adapter without it though, but don't think it's normal... Will have to contact the maker.

Have emailed the maker :

Hello,

just received the 18mm adapter I've ordered you for my Tinymight. But it won't fit in. The adapter is slightly larger than the metal ring tightening the silicon o-ring, so I just can't pass it through. It's a micron size affair, but it's unusable nonetheless.

Have you got a solution for me ?

Kind Regards,

Now waiting for en answer, will see what he's got for me.
