Collyland Aromatizer (formerly Vapbong by Art of Vapor)

Still experimenting and this afternoon tried .07g and I was impressed. Impressive clouds all the way through until the last two draws. Very tasty at 10.4V. I am going to keep dropping the temp.

I would love to slow down my draws, but I noticed some dark spots, the slower I inhale. 10/10 so far for the OAB guys. Best tasting vape I have ever used.

My wildfire OAB arrived from @VGOODIEZ. Beautiful. Busy weekend, so haven’t had a chance to put it through its paces yet. It’s almost too open airflow; do I want to put in more water? I’ve got about 5 ounces in there now. Do you recommend pre-heating at full for like 10 minutes and then dropping down?

Edit: why is the photo displaying flipped?

What a bute! Enjoy your first sessions!

Yea the airflow is massive - I prefer the open flow but attaching a whip might reduce it if that's what you wanted. I dont think adding more water will reduce the airflow much, if you add too much it will just pull water through the arm anyway.

I do a full 30 min heat soak before I hit it - usually drops about 1V during this time for me (so if I set it on 12v at first, it will drop to about ~11v after soaking). You'll have to experiment with voltages as the ambient temp, load size, draw speed, etc all effect this. Its cold af where I am now and I usually settle ~11.5-11.8v, which seems to be on the high side compared to others.

Very nice, I suggest doing some experimentations with it. I asked yesterday about this and I was told to keep the ball off, because there isn't a carb hole like the classic vapbong. Scroll to the previous page. I have been putting in 200ml of water. I am unsure of the specifications, but this has been working well. No backwash.

I found putting the herb in this location works the best. If I put the herb spread across the screen, I get a hotspot in that exact location.

This isn't from the same bowl, but this is what is occurring. Is this normal for the OAB? I can see why this is happening because of the stem placement and where I am inhaling from. Any thoughts?

Take a look in your heater ball and see if the ceramic rod w the coil is centered. When I first got mine it was a little off center. You can gently move it w a stir tool while off and while pushing on the base if the power wire. Very little adjustment w make a big difference so only do it in tiny increments. Hopes this helps

Don't bother moving the heater, the heating element inside, that doesn't matter... @alleyhoops that is normal, if that is working for you loading less then keep at it, but you should try drawing faster with a larger load or lowering your power...

@jbm if the ball bowl is on while heating up for 30 minutes, you could burn yourself when you go to take it off... Always leave the ball bowl off unless you are using it to take a hit... I think your bandit has a carb hole, correct? I prefer to keep mine covered permanently... Also there is really not much need to play with the dial, once you find a power setting that works for you, the way you draw and load, you can just leave it there. Then when you are done just unplug or turn off surge protector, so when you go to use it again and turn it on, it will be higher voltage than where you left, but after about 30 minutes it should drop down to where you were last time and be good to go!

No carb hole, but thanks for the other info. Where do you keep your voltage?

Oh nice! There was assumptions that these vgz bandits had the holes... I'm in different ranges depending on the timing, mine is in the upper 11s now because it is by a window and it is cold outside especially in evening when I am using it... Yours will be different from anyone else, relative to where you are and how you are using it, eventually you may want to establish a low side and a high side, but yeah for now just focus on finding one setting... If you don't have outside temperatures messing with it, probably around 10.3v to start? You may want it a little higher or lower, depending how you draw and load though... When you turn it on let it be at like 12v or so and see where it falls after 30 minutes, or if after 20 it hasn't gotten to ~10v You can put it at 10.5 and it will drop a little more over the next 10 min.

Just some observations from a fellow newbie:

This thing shines with big loads. I come from the world of Dynavap where the average load size is around 0.07 - 0.10. My primary reason for getting my VB was for larger dosage opportunities. I wanted to go from many 'doses' to just a few 'sessions'. Mission accomplished!

The key for me to get perfect extraction is two things: (1) hand pulled nugs (2) at least 0.30gr of material.

This was 0.68gr and a good example of the size of the load nugs. My average is around 0.50gr. The ball will hold about 1.25gr of hand shredded / 2.0+ of ground. The difference between hand pulled nugs and ground herb is remarkable. Totally changes the vapor flavor / production and overall VB performance.

I initially struggled with combusting a lot of loads or at least uneven toasting and hot spots. No matter how big or small the load, stirring or not, fast / slow draw - if I wanted more than light tan extaction I could not get it without scorching. Damn.

I was (and still am) assuming user error. I wish use a whip and go dry 100% of the time. I know I'm using it 'wrong' as in 'not as designed'. So, I wanted to find a technique that would morph my style with its design. The key is those 2 things: nugs and big loads.

I set it at 10.3 and can NOT combust. The whole nugs break down different than ground cannabis. The toasting process of the convection heat marries perfectly with nugs. This beast was born to convert nugs to vapor.

You owe it to yourself to try nice fat bowl of nugs That bowl in the pic above lasted forever. Just breathing thick vapor that never lost flavor until it just eventually gave up the ghost and stopped making vapor. Good to the last drop!

Mine was off too. Made a BIG difference in evenness and overall performance.

I love to see more people converting to hand torn baby nugs.
Yeah man, I am on board!

There's nothing more satisfying that tearing a baby apart. Slowly and deliberately removing one piece after another. Its meditative.

You don't even wanna know what I do to get baby powder.

+1

It took me a week to notice. Then I was like... daaamn... wtf was that.

Yeah man, thanks for spreading the word on this. Centering that heating element takes 2 seconds. It should be part of every 'first session' checklist.
I read it in here somewhere before but totally forgot ti do it when I recieved mine.

Added: oh crap. Double post. Sorry.

A little help, moderator. How does one alert a mod?
