Wondering if anyone is using the Sic cup with their Duo? @tylerj55 ?

Is this cup design so diff than any other that there are no after market parts that can fit... because of the width and how short the cups are?
None of my peak inserts fit! There’s supposed to be a company working on inserts for it though. I think the company working on them is selling stuff on source Vape’s website for now.

The sic cup was the first one that I tried (I also have the titanium and the crystal) and I didn't see the point in trying the others after using it; the thing rocks! It's super thin and lightweight, tho... I'm always paranoid about breaking it when handling it (tho I've dropped it once w/o breaking it); it literally feels like it's made of an eggshell. I don't know of any others that will fit the heating element.

Im holding on of H5's Sic dishes....the 2nd version seems like it has problems as well. Reports of up to 470 used and it did not get hot enough to use. The first one was cheaply made and dusted off.

I'm going to hold off and just use the quartz for my tastes as safety.....lol

I bought a sic dish when I got mine in Sept. Immediately switched it in after cleaning and thought the Duo sucked! Not until using the quartz dish did I realize it was because the sic dish wasn't getting hot enough. With the quartz the Duo's been good.... until this morning when I got a heater fault message... smh.

That's the one thing about these e-rigs. I have a Peak Pro coming as well but in some on the go cases I'll stick to my Rio because it just works and you never have to worry about mechanical failure and being stuck.

I would contend.....the ability for a atomizer to fail.....is not far off from the torch messing up on the rio.......I know many with old and new rio's.

That sux you have an issue with the heater. How old is your rio.....did you RMA it?

True. I have #401 of batch A and haven't experienced issues but of course torch failure is always possible. It's a banger and I have single flame and quad flame torch lighters that heat it as well.

As far as the Duo is concerned... I got it in Sept. I've put it through it's runs (as you mentioned the new glass is MUCH better and I'm still waiting on my new carb cap) but I alternate between all my devices. HighFive got back to me and sent out a new atomizer at no charge. When it arrives I have to send the damaged one back in the package they provide for warranty purposes...

Great service...

I too find nothing topping my 710 enail setup...but I still like using the Duo often. I found that using pretty damn clean trates helps with the scorching. I have not scorched anything unless it was left on temp and I did not hit it soon enough....like 30-40 seconds after a draw.

I mainly use solvent-less hash rosin, but have tried lessor filtered stuff like 120u pressed flower rosin...but I had to keep hitting on it to keep it from scorching easily after about 20-30 seconds of not hitting when it was at temp....(400-420F).

I use the quartz bowl.....and I am very happy with performance. Wondering about the Sic or Ain if they are high quality and dont dust out......? Time will tell I guess.

I think my device was just acting up a bit at first. I still get great vapor but distillate is not even scorching at 420. I seem to be getting consistent results too. The only thing scorching is unfiltered rosin at this point very happy with this purchase.

I at first ordered a Core but cancelled and ordered this. The Core is cool and has that top flow too but don't think the Core would cut it. I am very much looking forward to some good safe inserts too.

The thing absolutely does not compare to a desktop enail so nobody expect that out of it. I can tell the temp rises on this one too kinda reminds me of a up temp profile on my stainless space edition Kube one just nowhere near the power of a desktop.

Does anyone know if these are bluetooth capable like the Carta? The Carta as far as i know always had it but the app for it is rather new.

I hope they do not add bluetooth to any future versions......I find 0 need for it if the vape is made well with good controls to the heater that allows precise heating.

The best vaping experiences I have with vapes.....all come from vapes with no apps/bt.

Has anyone here been testing the herbal atomizer for this? I asked about it weeks ago and heard nothing but it's so close to release that's no shock. I actually offered to test it and let them know how extensive my vaporizing experience is.

@LabPong I could live without it but would be nice to know whats going on temp wise on the hit extend. The screen just says the start temp the entire dab.

Hello everyone...
...so,..a couple weeks ago,..after great success w/ the unit,..it died..just wouldnt do anything.
...when this happened i surprisingly wasnt shocked,..at all really...i went thru this and the rma circles w/ a Peak,.and a couple other "new" devices in the past..it just seems inevitable its gonna fail eventually.
I have had no issues w/ customer service so far,..they were all over getting me a new base sent out.
I used my new base about 5x and got the "heater fail" message...this time i was a little put off....so i contacted them,..and they sent me a video on how to clean it??...i happened to have my old atty and tried that ....it works perfectly.
So i guess "heater fail" means the atty is dead...or unseated .
Its strange,..even after its failures i still look forward to using it.
I have a full enail setup w/ nice glass and all that,..but sometimes you wanna get to where you need to be quickly,...this device does that for me.

I am not at all thinking about or wanting any dry herb ability with the Duo. But if they can come out with something new and it actually works...that will be cool to see.

I think maybe the contacts are the issue. Not sure if some overload or allow build up in that area of the heater contacts....seems hard to do...but I wonder if some of these heater faults are just bad contact points for some reason?

I'll get an extra atomizer soon just to be safe and keep the rig working so I do not have to deal with RMA downtime or what ever. The duo is a important tool for me as I use it daily......and also it is quicker than my 710 coils setup which is my main pain killer.

Got the new carb cap yesterday. It was worth it IMO. Much better seal and it really works well with a couple of pearls.

The stock one with the angled exit?

I was not sure if the in coming air hit at the top of the bowl...or further down?

This is a very underrated ERig. Ever since I got it I got rid of my Peak and the peak pro is to expensive IMO. I'm truly digging the DUO 3 months strong out the box no problems so far. Hope they make the flower bowl.

I just got my DUO and so far I'm loving it. I had a peak but it just kept needing upgrades to work rite. So I'm trying something new and really like it. I like the video.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Peak Pro stock glass fits snugly into the adapter, as does this other recylcer(pretty sure it's a DHGate piece). Both of these have slanted glass bottoms, whereas the this older C2 bubbler has a flat bottom and does NOT fit properly in the adapter. What's also interesting is that the Dr Dabber stock bubbler fits around the silicon adapter just tightly enough to create a seal though it could do being abit tighter(silicon greese maybe?).

This is a nice vaporizer, and I definitely agree with the previous posters that it's preferable over the Peak Pro. At the moment I still favor the Versa Orb, mainly because it has better stock cooling and more software options than the Duo. Also the smaller air intakes around the atomizer on the Duo clog up quickly, even though they're a cinch to clean with a quick soak/swirl in a shotglass of acetone.

Cool! Quick question off topic, is there a way to do this with the Versa use this glass for more options?? I have no idea when their other glasses coming in stock...

The only Versa alternative I know is the 18.5 mm male addon from Mr Bonsai. I have one and it works well, and it also happens to fit nicely in the case where the carb cab usually goes(just throw that in the side pocket).

Any suggestions on getting a more airtight seal with a carb cap?

As you know, blocking the carb lowers the air pressure in the bowl so material boils at a lower temp. This makes a big difference with my other devices [more clouds and less residue without boosting the temperature too high]. My DUO leaks air like a sieve with every cap I’ve tried.
