SEARCH for the treasure...
I don't know enough to say which is better, but the EQ screens are really doing it for me. They fit right into the shovelhead with the 18mm post. The avb, so long as I don't pack it too much, is completely even despite my lack of ability. I also noticed that I don't even have to fill it to get a good cloud.

Not sure I've seen much said about this, but this is the first vape that that I've used that feels like a medical device. I use MJ for medical purposes first, recreation second and one of the things that irritated me about vaping is how long it took to get through my dose. I explain it like this, can you imagine a pill that took 20 minutes of your day? Now, I get there in one to two little doses that take maybe a minute or two a piece.

After seeing all those heads with concentrate caked inside them, I'm starting to wonder if the inside of my EQ is caked with reclaim and that's why it's not so great these days.

What’s a “EQ screen”?

They used to be in the business of medical devices, so that makes sense. From their site: NewVape began life as a CNC machining job shop facility in 2005 called Custom Instruments. Specializing in titanium spine implants for the orthopedic industry. In 2010, NewVape was created as a brand to develop our own line of titanium domeless nails which eventually evolved into a unique line of Premium Vaporizers, Rosin Presses and Accessories.

However it developed, god bless them!! :)

Anybody with an idea how to get one of the new glass bowls in the Eu? I would love to try one but just for this doing the customs game... would like to avoid it.

Have a great day!

What do the EQ baskets do for you, exactly?

I can already put a pretty tiny amount in the shovelhead bowl and it perfomrs nicely. Does the EQ basket improve extraction? Denser vapor with small loads?

I've never actually tried them

Got a new style glass bowl on the way. I didn't notice it has no handle. That doesn't seem... Cool. In fact I'm pretty sure that bowls gonna be hot after a session! Looking forward to it, but disappointed by the lack of handle. Is the no handle an issue for those that have the new glass bowl?

That is what is keeping me from ordering one. I would think that would be an issue for me as I generally do one hits.

The top gets hot, but the disc around the middle and bottom stays relatively cool, so that's not really a problem.

What sucks and feels extremely awkward is debowling without the handle. I love the new glass bowl, but I have no idea why they didn't go with a handle. shrug

Thinking about getting a Flowerpot and was wondering what yall's opinion is on which is the better controller to get? The NV one or the Auber?

Also, are there any aftermarket options for glass bowls for the Flowerpot? Both glass bowls, 18 and 14 mm, are sold out.

IMO the auber is slightly better and if you think you're going to be switching from a standard temp to a lower temperature for daytime or flavour chasing, or if you want to crush a load in one hit at a high temp. Basically if you think you will be switching regularly the auber is for you as well as slightly better temperature control during the hit. If you are a one temp guy the new vape one works perfectly well and is no slouch, and to my knowledge incredibly reliable long term, not sure if I ever read of one failing. I'm not much of a strayer so my nv one serves me well

If I had it to do all over again, I might have gotten the Auber over the less expensive model since changing the temp on the button model isn't fun. I am used to being able to hold down the button to change rapidly so I tried doing that. It went 610, 611, 612, 613, 615, 617, *blink*, 717. Though I am not looking to replace it with the Auber. I plan to either go for the MaxVapor or roll my own out of industrial lego. If I buy another enail controller, it's going to have a touch screen or at least some bells and whistles beyond direct temp control.

I am also hoping that keeping the temp the same when I am still learning how to draw will help me get the most out of other temps. Change one thing at a time.

I should note that the innards of the less expensive controller aren't going to let you down. It's very old tech meant for industrial use. It would also be able to control my shirt dryer if I wanted to swap it out lol. Not sure on the IP rating of the NV PID, but you could probably run it under water and it would be fine (assuming a tight seal on the enclosure it's in. For example, the $40 pid I just bought to replace the unit in my shirt dryer has an IP rating of 66 (which means it has "Complete protection against dust and powerful water jets from all directions"). One more detail is that it has a solid state relay to control the heat which should last more or less forever. I can't speak to the specific components, but there's something to be said about using existing tech.

@NewVape710 Kudos on the soldering btw. It's nice and tidy. Surprised to not see spade connectors.

@swanka ⬆ Dang. Some of that was beyond me but not all. It kind of gave me warm fuzzies.

Vrod owners. Do you wipe out the sic dish after every dab, or just load dabs until your done then wipe? Do you wet your qtip when wiping? I find after sweeping out with a dry qtip I feel like cotton fibres are being vaporized n lifted away with remaing residue.

710yota

Have you heard about the boom on Mizar 5?
I typically wipe my dish out with a dry q-tip after every dab, I just try to pay attention to getting all of the fibers out.
I also find using a higher quality q-tip leaves less fibers, I've been liking Glob Mops for this purpose.

Oh man.. from the first time I saw Bud use it in his review, I knew I had to have it.. It's really just a matter of when I can afford it if anything. Have you tried microdosing? I've heard good things about it. Come to think of it.. I need a new scale that reads at up to hundredths..

I've never weighed out my dose sizes, ever.
However, I am a bit of a microdoser, and I can use a very tiny amount with my shovelhead bowl. I've used so little that it only covered maybe 1/3 of the screen, and it still vaporized fully, with no issues. I've been very happy with this performance.

I honestly never weigh out my loads either, but I've been curious about load size as of late. I really need to get a decent scale that reads to the hundredths. I was just curious, but it sounds like about a crumb. I noticed they got in some bundles back in stock but still no glass. I've been experimenting building my own kit as well and I found out I can easily do this for under $500. I just wish they had their glass rigs back in.

Using an EQ basket will center your load perfectly under the showerhead or whatever head you own.
You will get perfect, one hit extraction with no green left anywhere and no stirring required.

A quick video showing the EQ bowl mod...

@Baron23

I am finally TWAXING like a pro! The DabPress 6 ton works like a dream and home grown flower and home pressed rosin is just too much!
Never thought I would board the concentrate train but this rosin is just amazing stuff!
Need to upgrade my dabbing surface from Ti though...

Happy belated $th of July!

If you want accurate measurements to the hundredths, get a scale that read to the thousands then discard the least significant digit.

I do not weigh out loads anymore, really. I just use the NV Pax Loading Tool and a level scoop of fine ground is right at about .1 grams.

I tend to run my FP SH with .15 -.2 g loads and it works well for me.

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES to all this. You've been doing the EQ bowl mod for time now. There should be a bat signal/eq bowl mod signal :)

Re: dabbing surface, going from Ti to nearly anything else is likely going to be a revelation for flavour with the rosin you're making. Welcome to the home pressed rosin club, its the best club there is IMHO :)

EDIT: Just noticed the glass doorknob stand :D
