Thanks for the video. Very nice. It appears to be just what I need. However, I just went to my tool box and pulled out my spare ceramic heater. It measures 2 cm or 7/8 of an inch. How long is the ceramic rod in the hammer top?

If I may ask, why did you not like the hammer top for flowers? Is it matter of heat? Ease of use?

Ahhhhh! Great to know. Thanks, I'll check it out.

Thanks, therealmclovin. Cutting the coil works great for the oil or wax, but sometimes when I haven't done lab work I have flowers and the SR-71 doubles as a really nice bowl when attached to a 22" piece of glass. A longer ceramic soldering-type wick would work better with the flowers. I...

I have a question about the Hercules SR-71. It's a nice device. I recently bought two. Does anyone know where I can find a longer ceramic heating element for the cartridge?

reliable vape for concentrates wanted, many puffs and low maintenance

Hercules SR-71 cartridge. I run it on an SMY GOD 180 watt box. It's perhaps more power than needed. I've never put it past 60 watts. There is no maintainance; the SR-71 is much easier to handle than the coil-on-ceramic motif. The setup will gently vaporize or incinerate anything one puts...

I wish I found this tutorial earlier. I tried to use the titanium wire from the rebuild kits and nearly gouged my eyes out in frustration. Then through trial and error research, I found kidney puncher got exactly the same parts and started cranking these out in like 10 minutes a coil. At...

I don't have an SR74, but to use KISS cartridges with my Smok M50 (regulated box mod) I needed to get the adapter (601 thread to 510 battery/body. I cannot answer the rest of question.

So, I had to go up a learning curve to efficiently rebuild KISS cartridges. Once I stopped trying to use the titanium wire, the process became ridiculously easy. The cost of getting proficient at rebuilding KISS cartridges included destroying my first Persei (replaced by up-tech) and buying...

torggzorz, thanks for the information. Used 12 wraps of 30 gauge. Works perfectly. I only planned on substituting out the titanium wire. The non-resistance wire is easy enough to work with.

Thanks. My resistance is too high right now, it is 0.09. I thought that I would use a lower gauge (a thicker wire) to bring down resistance. Of course I'm limited by the size of the cartridge. I was also assuming fewer wraps (a shorter trip for the electrons overall) would also help to...

thanks. i assumed i got carried away on wrapping; resistance was way too high 0.09. will try lower gauge and fewer wraps

Can you rebuild a KISS cartridge substituting Kanthal for the titanium? I made two that look great, but not usable on the Persei (the resistance is way too high). Kanthal is just way easier to use, but I guess the resistive properties are too different. (They would work on my vv/vw box mod...

SamuraiSam, Thanks for the information. With the two, most recent 7.4v cartridges, I did use a one second tap technique; it worked great--just not for a long time. I'll try 1/2 second taps when I rebuild another cartridge. In terms of the globe, I did use the 18650 battery. (I had the...
