So the ambient high temperature is not so much an issue (such as if I was carrying them around in a bag outside in 100 degree weather, or if they were left on the floor of the car in their plastic foggy battery case), more so it's just the direct sunlight that's cause for concern? That's...
I might be overthinking this but I'd rather be over-informed rather than under-informed in this regard. I'm more used to a desktop vape (SSV) so I'm not used to using these batteries typically.
Now that Summer's here, will walking around with these batteries in a bag in 100 degree sun matter...
Tube showed up from Elev8 and it's much better than the one from amazon. This one is way more flexible, doesnt smell at all, and just feels higher quality. Glad I returned the other one and ordered the official tubing.
Alright, great! Thanks for letting me know, I'll keep an eye out for the shipping number then.
And yeah, big agree on Elev8. I will never use another desktop vape aside from the SSV. They've got a customer for life definitely. I've had this SSV for forever and it's been with me through thick...
Yeah, I didn't realize that your tubing is actually vinyl compared to the silicon one that I ordered. The one I had ordered seemed to be collecting dust on the outside (possibly inside also), and still had a slight chemical smell to it, which seemed weird to inhale through so I didn't.
It's...
hmm, thank you for the link but I don't really have these specific cleaning products haha. I did clean it with soap and hot water. I think I'll let it air out for a few days and see.
Yeah, idk. I used it for a few weeks exclusively and then went back to the SSV. After using the SSV for months and returning to this the chemical taste was *super* obvious in the roffu.
Maybe I just didnt use it enough? Maybe I didn't clean the rubber parts enough after the initial burn-offs...
I did run hot water through it for awhile but it didn't seem to do much.
Any particular type of soap to use or avoid using? I heard that this tubing can absorb smells/products if used incorrectly but idk.
Hello, Friends! Long-time SSV user here (had mine for over 10 years now). So proud of this little thing. What an amazing company and product.
My question is though, for the first time after all these years, I bought some replacement tubing because it's the only part that's difficult to clean...
It seems the smell is not just coming from the silicon parts.
If I take off the mouthpiece and the bowl above the heating element....and do a max session, 6 mins, and I smell above the heating element...it absolutely has a chemical smell still.
It's the same smell in the mouthpiece but I think...
Has someone made a video tutorial of this?
I'd like to watch someone take out the stock parts and morph it into this in detail. Just to fully piece together it mentally. It seems like it would feel janky compared to the bespoke parts it has now and I'd like to see it in detail before ordering...
Yeah, I did do some burn-offs when I got the unit and it was super bad (as far as the smell/taste). It improved it but the taste if still very noticeable after using the SSV again. You're saying just keep doing that, I guess?
I'll try it, it seemed to stop making a difference after a certain...
What is the best way to eliminate the rubbery, chemical, smell of the unit?
After using the unit exclusively for the first few weeks I had it (switched off my desktop SSV during that time), I've gone back to this thing sporadically sometimes and the chemical taste of the unit is incredibly...
Does POTV have screens that are similar to the DDave ones that I linked earlier?
If I'm ordering the bucket screens from POTV, I'd rather just have everything in one order....rather than doing two separate small orders from different places.
