This happened on my Herbie also, just once on it's second day of use.

The straight 14mm water tool I got for free with the ascent fit in the Herbie bowl very tight. I broke it the second day I used it. It cooled off and seized up, when I twisted and tried to pull it out it snapped at the base. I think I was lucky that it fit at all. Someone else mentioned they had...

If anyone tries this be careful, remove the stem while its still warm. I just snapped mine off in the bowl trying to remove it when cold.
