I've had it since early June and I use it every day but the first click still hasn't engaged. I have been aware that it can take about 30 heat cycles to calibrate, but I'm just not that worried about it right now as I don't really use the audible clicks as an indicator of where I want it to be...
Not nearly as far as I expected him to be, but it certainly makes sense that progress was paused as new hardware is implemented to vastly increase output. I'm in no rush to get mine, but happy to see things will get easier for him.
Thanks for pointing this out, @vividchicken133. It hadn't...
I sent a request to yll for some more information on the 3.0. Response from Mike only took about 10 hours - quicker than I expected.
Battery that was recommended:
Molicel/NPE INR-21700-P42A 45A 4200mAh Flat Top 21700 Battery
Now that I know which cell we need, I'm going to scoop up 4 so I can...
Was it there when you first got it?
It seems a handful of Tempest 2 units, including mine, don't provide two clicks (only one click) - mine is one of them. I just answered this a couple days ago, but I don't really need the audible clues for effectively using it. I bought a Tempest 1 in the...
My intent wasn't to imply that anyone is advocating he rush. Apologies if I came off that way.
I was attempting to communicate that anyone willing to invest $350 in a very high-end grinder, in particular a grinder from OMD, is likely aware that Ben is extremely focused on releasing the best...
Sounds like Ben may be swamped with orders. Enough so that he had to pause on new orders so he could get caught up. That's speculation of course, but if you're dropping $350 on a grinder then you're likely aware that Ben is extremely focused on releasing the best product he can which comes at a...
That's probably what I would have bought if I had to pick up a set right now. The ones I have are probably about six years old and 30A, so I'm hesitant that they are the best option, but I imagine they will work enough for me to use 3.0 without great performance. If that happens, I'm buying the...
If it makes you feel any better, my pre-order T2 has only ever had a single click, which I think is the second of the clicks, so I think the first click is what's missing. I've replaced the balls but haven't taken the cap off to dig around the internal components. I'm familiar with how to do it...
Mad Heaters Tempest manual. This has everything you need. The depth of the Tempest 1 head is the same as the depth of the Tempest 2 head.

You're welcome! When I use 60W and 50s with my P30Bs, I get the second click right around the timer expiring. Sometimes I reset the counter and then drop it back in for a few seconds if I don't hear the click - the few extra seconds add some noticeable clouds.
**I just noticed in the thread...
For the yll 2.0 and the Sim engine, I most commonly use 60W and 50s, but that's with Molicel P30B batteries. If you're using the stock Wand batteries in the 2.0, they are underpowered for 60W settings. If I recall, 45W is the highest you can go with the stock Wand batteries in the 2.0, likely...
Forgot mention, the 45W/45s is a good starting point. I typically always use higher wattage or time than that and I almost always go ~5 seconds past the click for a decent medium roast.
