I can’t believe that I am still involving myself in this.
Please send in your broken forge. You have an RMA and an address to send it back. You can put it in the post. It will likely be your turn when it gets there. There aren’t that many units on the planet. I imagine if they have too many...
So you got an RMA to send it back. You have the mailing address to send it. The postal strike is over. The only one gate keeping is you. Go send your package. They will receive it.
Awesome review. My only note is about whole nugs. After you roasted the turkey, crush it and mix it up and toss it back in to roast the stuffing. Really comprehensive review. Well done.
Try stopping heat shy of the click. While most of my experience with the Tornado has been with the Forge, it taught me about heat transfer and lag time. I ignore the clicks with my Anvil + Forge combination.
I’m glad someone wrote this. I haven’t weighed in lately as I parked my Tornado. I am using the Forge full time now. Full blast torch for about 10 seconds was closest I got to replicating the Forge experience.
The Tornado seems better to me when the stem is still warm from a previous heat up...
There isn’t a leap from Anvil to Tornado. It’s a step sideways and forwards. There is a lot more subtlety to the Tornado experience when paired with the with the Forge. There’s no condenser other than the pinch point going through the atomizer section. The oven walls are thinner so the heat...
I’ve been blasting my Tornado with the biggest torch/flame I’ve got. I aim for 10-12 seconds of torching. The click comes in at the end or shortly after. This technique brings me closest to my Forge + Tornado experiences.
My Anvil is my edc. I don’t have a grinder. I have been chopping my flowers with scissors to load the Tornado’s giant bowl. That’s not convenient or quick. During the day I need convenient and quick. The Tornado’s bowl is an XL style. That affects the vapour signature. I don’t use the XL bowl...
The Tornado fits well on my stem. It’s the first generation “user’s edition.” One o-ring is exposed with my USA. I am not sure which generation I have. There are shorter ones. Regardless of my adapter being longer, it seats firmly all the way in to the Tornado. A little extra sticks out.
I usually fill the oven with fluffy bits of scissored nugs.
I have ground herb from a government source labeled as “reefer ready.” It is a very fine grind. It performs very well.
It’s an XL style bowl so there is a level of conduction.
Fellow nug heater. I gave up on nugs when using the big oven. I scissor them now into fluffy bits. I’m using spring loaded trimming shears as they’re easier on my arthritic hands. It’s made a difference in the extraction.
I find the Anvil stem hot after three bowls. I have to wait for that to cool, not the Forge. Back to back throws off how much energy I need to use without heating past my comfort zone.
I’m now able to coax a session mode out of the Anvil.
