Good to hear you are getting the hang of it. Having spent a lot of time messing around with the Ember, I find the speed of the draw to be a much bigger factor than the power setting. I will say that early on in the bowl, the first 3-5 draws, the hits are much more aromatic and less cloud/vape...
We've found it to be way off. You'll get to the point where you can feel it on the inside of your mouth. I'll also part the file we used for the battery customization. We did it through Arctic Fox.

Great to hear you are enjoying it. The hotspot might potentially be from the pipe. However, some of the early Embers did have these hotspots. The screen in the chimney really does a job at distributing the heat pretty evenly. That said, it is important to stir the bowl every 3-5 draws.
