I received two that both broke within days, how many more would they need to send to get me a single working unit? Straw man of the year award quoted right there...
I strongly disagree. Given that this issue only seems to affect stealth units, sending me a non stealth one (which I said I'd be fine with) would have been the most logical solution. Sending it back is only useful for verifying that it's actually broken, and we were able to do that via email...
Or they will refund your money leaving you with two broken units and nothing to vape on until you can get something delivered from another company.
For anyone wondering; I've settled on a Nugsmasher and a wax pen and it's hitting the spot nicely.
I ended up being offered and receiving a refund. Would have much preferred a working unit but at least they didn't leave me out of pocket.
I believe the issue is that previous versions had metal coating on the door latch and the stealth version doesn't. I think it's that simple.
I notice a couple of people in this thread claiming it isn't a widespread issue, but no direct comment from Ghost on the matter. If the issue is really limited to the three people we know about so far, it would be good to know. From looking at the broken part, I find it highly unlikely that...
I have home made oil (ethanol extraction) in ccell carts but it isn't a "full" high. I've experimented a lot, wasted a lot of money, and the only thing I've really learned is that I don't know wtf I'm doing. I just want to get back to getting high and I don't want to go back to smoking. I think...
If this isn't an issue on non-stealth versions then replacing it with a non-stealth version would be an instant fix as far as I'm concerned. I don't really care how it looks at this point, I just want to get high.
I noticed no one from Ghost has said that it isn't a known issue, and also that they haven't responded to the question about plating/coating. I don't see how this can be user error, the device was working as intended.
I'd love to know whether the two of us in this thread are the only ones who have reported this issue. Again, from taking it apart after it broke to get a better look, I'm stunned and bewildered that not every single unit is breaking in the same way.
Still waiting to hear what solution, if any...
The door is constantly pushed forward. I know this because after the latch breaks it won't stay closed, you can push it as hard as you want, it still bounces open again. It's not a small amount of pressure either, relatively speaking.
On another note, I'm desperately seeking an online retailer...
Plated with what?
I think he had it right. There's a spring constantly pushing the crucible holder mechanism outwards even when the door is closed. By pushing the door in, you release that outward pressure on the latch, then when you press the door button there is no pressure against the...
The component is the same as the door release button, it's one single piece that goes through to the inside and turns in to a latch. On the SB edition this component is plastic. The metal spring you speak of is indeed metal and in this case not the same.
I sent it to "Daniel: GHOST Vapes Product Specialist" on 30th of last month after he emailed asking for additional images but sure, feel free to show it to anyone if it helps.
Here's what mine looked like after I took it apart. The part I've circled which has clearly broken off is the same part circled in the post above (the one in the post above just looks cracked though, for mine half of the latch block broke clean off.
