Well I got my Tempest 2 and tried it out - wow, just wow.
T1 was excellent, but T2 is an upgrade in every way. The T1 had a couple shortcomings - only a couple - and it appears @Brenyo fixed every single one, and then some.
The ball retaining screen is much easier to use, the wand adaptor is...
My long watch has ended. P1029X delivered today 🧘♂️
Timeline, for others:
- June 10: shipping email received
- June 12: export flight to USA + cleared customs
- June 13: package received by UPS-MI
- June 16: package transferred from UPS-MI to USPS
- June 17: USPS regional facility > USPS local...
1029x - no notification today. IIRC Brenyo said there were QC issues with a particular part, and that if there's no shipping email by today, it's bc the part needs replacing with a goal ship date of 6/8. Looks like I'm in that group.
I'm strangely relieved knowing my T2 is getting expert...
I have so little faith that things will get better anytime soon, that I too am willing to pay $100 before June 1.
Nobody tell my friends and family though.
I'm really sorry you have to deal with the BS coming from our side of the pond.
speaking for myself (US customer), I'd be happy to wait and even pay a little extra for shipping to the US. I wouldn't want the Ti version to slip through my fingers.
For reheats I go to 2nd line, maybe a few pulses beyond. If I go over, I still try to keep the 2nd line within the bounds of the VI. Reheating is the most combustion-prone stage, so it's better to underdo it and then add heat in short bursts than it is to overdo it and burn up your entire bowl.
After fucking around with pre-set temps for a while, and experiencing some of the frustration you describe, I decided set my wand to max temp (800F) and heat based on click/VI/sensory cues. I like this approach bc it's adaptable and therefore less finicky. It also forces me to be mindful -...
I'm the same way. A stoner friend (who uses the MH revolve) asked me if I was getting the Tempest V2 and I was like "oh absolutely."
There's a degree of trust that MH has earned, both in terms of design/innovation and values/approach. It's nice to see.
Ok guys, asking bc it appears there is still stock on the UK website...
My original plan was to wait for a colored aluminum model, bc I like the blue - it's discreet, it's pretty, it looks like *jewelry*. Am I going to miss out on anything by skipping the Ti? ie will the Ti confer any benefit...
Get a decent-quality fine mesh strainer for kitchen purposes. Higher quality steel than those dinky tea things. Won't leave residue on your bal- your spheres.
