Is it possible some hoppers are shipped out with multiple defects, and the first time they fix one problem but not the problem that the hopper wasn't signalling for, causing someone to get another dead hopper

This is purely hypothetical and there is absolutely no basis for the statement I'm about to make, but maybe they're programming a corresponding light change to a certain error or problem that they fix when it's sent back for diagnosis.
