I feel like it would work better if the airflow screw was reverse threaded.

My ta3 airflow disk unscrews when I decap with the magsink. I've tightened the screw multiple times, but it keeps happening. I've been just taking the cap off with a leather sleeve tbh.

my ta3 used to live on a glass wpa. Until 1 morning I was hitting it through my bong, and the wpa exploded. It was a handmade usa wpa also. Since then I only use my ta on wood. I just made this acrylic stem for my ta and it seems to hold the heat just fine.

OK cool I would say I usually do like a 15-20 second count. With the big shot prob more like 15. Ruby can definitely take a good bit more heat it seems. Yeah 530f was more a starting point where I got light to medium abv with 3mm rubies. I've gone to 550f, but I'm going to see how high I can push it (for science). I always received 3mm balls, so can't comment on the difference in 3mm-2.5mm. I have tried each material in 3MM on MH site plus 3mm...

I saw your post and decided to try 3mm rubies in my tempest. I been using them in my ta3 and had just enough extra for the tempest. I would say 525-530f would be a good starting point for full bowl 1he. Also my latest tempest mid section in stabalized burl. This one is 14/18mm compatible 🤩

tonight have the tempest on a zebra wood mid section made by me. Ss lined. 14 mm compatible below the carb. 2nd attempt, getting better each day.
