Don’t even need a spacing jig, just a mark on the silicone insert for a suggested starting position would help. With instructions on what to expect if adjust it down or up a mm or two.

I think the adapter positioning plays a big role. I can’t believe the impact moving the adapter by a couple of mm’s can have. Also notice that battery quality and health also has an impact.

You don’t need glass at all. The best cooling is the tempest stem. I like using helix tube with the SCU and wide open airflow, but you’ll find your own style. My preferred balls are stainless, but I like them all for different reasons.

thanks, appreciate the perspective. I want the visual indicator to reach the third mark, but it doesn’t seem to go much past the second one. Certainly isn’t a big issue as I’m able to consistently get awesome results, with a variety of configurations.

So can someone please clarify, if I’m looking at heating to the third mark on the visual indicator - is that when the far edge of the visual indicator is aligned with the third mark? o?r is it when the middle of the visual indicator is aligned with the third mark?

Yeah I didn’t purchase it for the tempest, just realised that it fits and thought some here might appreciate it. Fjăllrăven have been making good quality stuff since the 60’s.
