Hello fellas.
I've been using an istick tc for a while now. It's been working great, but every day carry has taken its toll. It's time for a new one and the istick is going on backup duty.
I am thrilled to see the evic vtc mini is now availiable. I did some searching and haven't seen a while...
I agree with your reasoning. I am happy enough with my istick, but the temperature control isn't that smooth. I think being able to adjust max wattage would be the easy way to smooth it out compared to better TC logic.
Although, it won't be long before all of the manufactures get the logic...
I think the only thing I do not like about my istick is TC is locked at 40w. I think the TC would be smoother if the wattage could be lowered, but otherwise it's working well for me on an rda.
I think i can hear some splatter when I first push the button, but it backs off pretty quickly so I am...
I drilled a hole somewhere between 1/8 and 3/16 in in my igo-l and still wasn't getting great results with a DBC. I would a coil within a coil with 2 layers of rxw and it knocked my socks off. It was a very smooth vape. Props to @2clicker for the inspiration.
First I stuck 30ga ni200 through...
I'm an engineer. Completely with you here.
You make a really good point about the wattage effecting the fluctuation. The iStick is locked at 40w for TC mode. After using it more I am finding the hunting is only a problem when I am taking a light draw. If I could adjust wattage I would...
Do you notice the power being cut as it hits the temperature limit? Sometimes with my kanger subtank I can feel it pulsing on the inhale. Something like 2 pulses a second, 50% on/off. It doesn't really bother me, but I can make it go away with more airflow or a slightly lower temp setting.
If you melt the dab into the wick on vw mode does that eliminate the warning in tc mode?
It's still another step, but that might be what it takes with the more solid concentrates.
I do plan on trying that scorch test some time. I have to guess that a wet coil will read differently than a dry one though.
Really, resistance is probably the most accurate indicator we have of temperature. If we could get more precise resistance readings, I would trust that before just about...
I wound a basic coil over RxW and that dab kicked my ass. It was .15ohms. I then tried a much smaller DBC than what I am used to and had decent results, but still not as good. I think I just need to find a RDA that gives me a little more space. Good airflow definitely is key.
I didnt have...
I've been vaping straight concentrates on an ecig rig for over 2 years now. I'm used to not seeing much vapor, but right now I can barely see a whisp coming off the atomizer.
I'm just not anywhere near the one hitter quitters I achieved without temp control. I've have hardly touched...
Its an igo-l. The air flow is pretty horrible. It worked on kanthal so I haven't drilled it out yet.
I can place the hole right over the coil, buy even with the top off there is hardly any vapor. Maybe I'll try to blow across it with the top off.
I'll try to get some pics up sometime this...
Its hardly any better at 600f (top of the range). I can taste it, but it takes about 3 long draws to feel anything. I misspoke... I am using 30 ga.
Everything seems tight, resistance is locked and reading steady.
I was wondering about the contact between wire and RXW myself. I'm not sure how...
Just tested out a 28ga, 0.15ohm ni200 DBC. The device shows it is getting up to temp, and the wax is melting down and saturating the coil, but I am getting next to no vapor production. This is at 500f.
Any ideas?
