I was more thinking in the lines of finding a way to avoid the situation where there is too much metal inserted and the circuit can't start oscillating because the demand is too high. What I would do is start the circuit on a frequency way higher than the resonant frequency of the whole with the...
Very cool! Reminds me of my build, I should look if I still have some images from it. I'm was using it to heat up a full sized ballvape, so that's why it broke down in the end. I did use one for about half a year or something but that prototype had a bit less metal mass to heat.
I'd think you want a low frequency. Turning on the ZVS induces huge power spikes, when I did my pid temp controlled induction heater based on that board I never switched faster than once every few seconds.
Just ordered this guy (18mm 90degree version), I'm going to 3d print a base for it and use it with an 18mm female whip adapter.
Most other glass I've seen is a bit too big for my vaping taste, and I don't really like the mouthpiece of the standard matrix sidecar bubbler can.
I hope this does...
I used an esp32 that I programmed so I could set the target temperature over bluetooth. Then I connected a 36v 15a mosfet to that so I could power on and off the induction heater according to the current temperature. Worked very well until I blew a power supply because I made my coil of less...
I used the MLX90614, only issue I had with it is when some herb went into the lens blocking it. The dabrite devices have some kind of shielding to prevent anything falling into the sensor. I should do that as well, I think it's some kind of plastic that lets IR waves through.
I've done it using an IR sensor and switching on/off the zvs based on that. Worked pretty well until I started trying other coils and burning my psu because of the increased ramp up power needed with a higher power coil.
This is really interesting to me, I also came across this board;

I'm thinking about doing a soft start by running it at a high frequency when powered on, the amperage should stay low and when the metal is inserted we could...
I've been running pretty high temps and not the most high grade rosin. I'm going to be a bit more careful now, just got the 3dxl in.
I pressed some better rosin and now I can get it pretty clean with one qtip if I don't go too high in temperature.
Any idea what kind of product that dark crystal...
How do you guys clean the atomizer? I'm using home made rosin pressed at 80c and I would like to run a terp pearl but I'm scared of charring the atomizer further. I already tested a few times, the walls got charred and was able to clean it up after using a melamine sponge and cooking some...
