Speaking as a FW9 owner, I prefer to swap out batteries (between 5 Molicells) so I'm not draining and recharging the same battery.

I saw that Marc changed both the bowl plug and the capsule plug to mostly ceramic. It looks like there's a difference in height (to me) between the old style, wood-bodied capsule plug... ...and the new style, ceramic-bodied capsule plug. Not sure why the design was changed on the plugs but...

Is there a cover for the quartz window so you can put it in your pocket after usage and not get burned?

I'm no rocket surgeon but wouldn't a smaller mass need lower heat temps? The capsule is basically a tapered cylinder with a screen friction-fit at the bottom (narrow end). I'm honestly not sure why we need to tamp! I've never wondered about it and now I'm curious... I 'think' that in bowl...

You're talking about the packing tool that unscrews from the bowl top. Gotcha. Yeah, mine can only tamp down the top third because the capsule is tapered.

We call that kindling! :D I've never weighed how much I pack but if 0.05 grams isn't enough to fill the ceramic capsule, make sure to pack it tight and use a low temp. I do a fairly tight pack (unless I use a water piece) to just below the capsule top and start at 300F for at least 2 pulls...

Tamp down a little harder so you get more draw resistance.

I pack both my Dynavap M (2019 I think) and FW9 pretty tight with a medium grind (5 piece Santa Cruz grinder). My temps are 300/320/340 and I get plenty of vapor at 300. What kind of grind (coarse, med, etc.)? Are you packing the bowl loose or tight? After you pack the bowl and put the top...

I was using a FW4 for several years until it suddenly stopped heating one day. Upgraded to the 9 but I miss the 4. The on-demand heating was much better than having to press an awkwardly placed tiny button for heat IMO
