I’ve found the SS tip very restrictive. I had to completely rethink my draw technique compared to using a Dyna. It was a couple of days before it was possible to achieve the sort of performance I was expecting
That’s really helpful and just the info I needed.
You’re right, the King is only available in anodised aluminium. I’d want to go with with SS for the same reasons you mentioned, so the standard it is then 👍
This was back during the initial release. The cracking was a dealbreaker so I sent it back. I’ve not used an IH since and prefer the results and usability made possible with an FMJ
Same
From the moment I received the V2 I could see (using a loop) differences in the texture of the plastic where my V1 had cracked. Within a couple of days micro fractures appeared in those areas and they eventually opened up and expanded until visible to the naked eye
This is probably going to sound counterintuitive, but I find the technique that works best is to simply breathe the vapour in rather than trying to suck as hard as possible (inhaling gently but deep into your belly). Everthing should be controlled by your lings with your mouth being completely...
Better is always relative. Glass might add a minimal amount of cooling, feel nicer and be more hygienic. However it's more likely to break and would be difficult to accommodate with the current mouthpiece design/interface.
A ceramic zirconia mouthpiece would be nice, but it's mostly a haptic/aesthetic preference. I don't think there's any significant practical benefit of glass or ceramic over plastic.
The Green Dream baskets are the ones I’m using. If the Arizer baskets fit an 18mm joint then they’ll work too.
You need to reform them a little in order to make a good fit.
I’ve not seen this mod anywhere else, so thought I’d share it as it helps with a few of the bugbears people have with the Firefly 2. Adding a dome screen:
Keeps the flower contained, so you only end up with AVB speckled on the window.
Makes swapping out bowls super fast and helps prevent the...
Compared to the BCG the SLX now feels really tinny and grinding is a little tough. I do miss the finer grind, so probably need to buy a fine plate for the BCG at some point.
If you don't mind waiting 8-10 weeks I'd go with the BCG. You won't regret it.
The Herb Ripper is a good option that's available in a few places in Europe. And for something a bit more budget friendly I'd recommend the SLX - the 2.0 has served me well for the last 7 years.
Nope. This setup only works because the tapered mouthpiece will fit into the stem like you might use an MVS with a water piece.
The inner diameter of the stems varies quite a bit and I know some people who've been able to use the MVS in the correct orientation with o-rings. It's just bad luck...
